No. But I put it on apples.

Funny you should post this now. Over the Independence Day weekend I kind of "rediscovered" my love for watermelon. I haven't had it much since I was a kid, and I used to love it. I ate almost two whole melons in 3 days. Man, that is good stuff.

I eat about 1 watermelon a week through summer. I cut it all up at once into cubes and keep it in the fridge. That way I can go in an grab a bowlful whenever I want.

No salt.
If you can pull it off in a biker bar without being violated by a corn dog, more power to you.

That's what I do, that's the best. It gets nice and cold in the fridge.

And I used some of the juice to make a watermelon glaze that I put on some grilled chicken breasts.

DON'T stop at the fridge!

I put it and other fruits in the freezer. Then when I go to the beach I keep them in the cooler...frozen grapes! excellent!

Ew.
I am absolutely anti watermelon. Salt or no salt, I don't like it.
Honedew's, Muskmelon...ANY other melon but watermelon. Just can't get into it.
Really one of the few foods I don't like.
I hate spitting seeds.
I'm kinda prissy that way.

They make seedless ones nowadays. That's what I get.

But even the "seedless" ones have those transluscent ghost seeds. I know they are there...I can feel 'em when I bite down. I know I don't have to spit them out, but I just can't swallow them.
Childhood phobia about swallowing watermelon seeds and getting pregnant?
Who knows.
Just can't stomach it.

Yes even the "seedless" do have those seeds. But the personal watermelons might not even have those. I never tried one of those mini's.

What about those square watermelons?

Square Watermelons?
That's just unnatural.

Frozen honedew is amazing. I always have fresh frozen fruit in the freezer. Grapes, melon, blueberries.
Good snacks, healthy and full of flavor.

And no seeds.
At least none to spit.

Yeah they grow them square in Japan so that they fit in the fridge with out rolling around. A regular watermelon in Japan already costs 20 or 30 bucks, but the square ones are close to 100 bucks a pop.

Bet it's a lot easier to carve up than the round ones.

Hey, Wise Guy -- you, the guy ridin' 36 friggen miles before breakfast and makin' the rest of us look like chumps... Smile

...yeah, I dump salt on my watermelon. My Dad did this when I was a kid, and I thought it was nutty. I finally wised up when I tried it Dad's way and discovered it made the melon SWEETER! Same with cantaloupe and honeydew.

Huh, father really did know best...

Are they seedless, or at least as seedless as the "seedless" ones?

Barely noticeable seeds...but then, I don't spit the ones out of regular watermelon.
