My favorite illusion is Modern Art! Presented in the Robert Harbin style with patter, this prop always causes a tremendous reaction.

I think Copperfield's Metamorphosis/Cacoon/Passion's Prison is my favorite performed illusion. Otherwise I really like One(his latest appearance).

Origami definitely.
I also love Copperfield's original Metamorphosis ... there were two versions that I saw, one required that the floating platform be brought back down before the girl was revealed ... MagiCat |

Big: I don't understand Asrah with a Blaney Hoop. The two don't seem to match in my mind.

I don't know how to put it. As an Asrah effect with a hoop that makes one single, solid pass over the form. Hence, a Blaney type hoop on a reg lev. I couldn't think of a better way of putting it. Apologies for confusion.

That's the whole problem with science. You've got a bunch of empiricists trying to describe things of unimaginable wonder. - Calvin (& Hobbes)

Has anyone seen Brett Daniel's Metamorphosis with the fan box? It is a steel, see-through box that has five industrial spinning fans, one on each side (minus the bottom). It looks amazing! It's in the Montage video under the video section of his site. Great video clips of his shows too!

BigT123!...You asked why so many of us are hung on Origami. You may not have seen this effect or you perhaps would have not asked this question.
Unquestionably this was the one effect which caused my jaw to drop the furthest on seeing it for the first time than any other effect. It is beautiful and grand, eloquent and masterful...and at first blush, impossible. Of all the works of art that I have seen produced from the world of magic, this is Steinmeyer's finest creation. Only Steinmeyer could have produced this, and only Steinmeyer could have revealed to us the mind of Jarrett. God bless you Jim, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. |
