I have had a good deal of response form my post about my backdrop - I am currently working on a touring show and the backdrop is used EVERY day. The concept is rather simple, however, the look is whhat is important - you must find a good seamstress to do your fabric work - the mechanism is the easy part - they are sold on ebay everyday.
My main goal for my backdrop was portability - infact, the entire rig "squeezes" down into the bottom of my OLEP case - which means that it is always with me AND because of the design of my cases, my entire show can be checked as baggage.
