Paul Harris' Astonishment books. I also love to go back to the Mark Wilson Course in Magic. It helps me keep things simple and concentrate on presentation. The Astonishment books simply have so much material I am constantly re-reading them and discovering things I had missed before.
I have just ordered the Ammar Cups and Balls and look forward to what if offers. Harp |

The Amateur Magician's Handbook. If I had to pick a runner-up, it would be the Art of Astonishment.

The "Magia Potagia" series of books by Juan Tamariz.
Actually, anything written by Tamariz is a gem. His works have been translated to multiple languages. |

Lots of great answers here. I enjoy going through old magic magazines, and reading the editorials, seldom looking at effects.
(I don't have the actual magazines, just the hard-covers) My favorites to look through: Hugard's Magic Monthly Lorayne's Apocalypse Ibidem |

Magic and Showmanship: A Handbook for Conjurers by Henning Nelms. And since there is a Dover edition out, it's a bargain to boot.
