It is not hard. It is called the Diminishing Silks. There are several post on this forum about it.

P & A Silks has a really good dvd set available. It is called Why Knot Silks. They run $40 each, but they have some really good information on them.
You would want to get the first volume of it for the Snap Silks, on the dvd it is called diminishing silks http://www.pasilks.com/

It is published in an inexpensive booklet put out by Rice Silks who I believe collaborated with the originator of the routine. Available at Rice Silks website

The thing about snap (diminishing silks) is that it is not a "trick in itself" as it lacks an ending. Having said that I suggest you look at how Marvin Roy (Mr. Electric) used them -- they were part of a sequence where they lead to a climax of a larger production.
Use the bulk at the end of the snap silks as cover for something else -- I think even a number of other pieces on DVD explain this. Duane Laughlin comes to mind.

I agree with Gregg. This is more a method to introduce the items you'll need for the trick rather than the trick itself.

Also realize that the original did have an ending. It was a comedy effect. Ali Bongo did it in his act. The silks keep getting smaller and smaller until the last silk is about 6" square. It is a funny bit.
