Hi I live in the UK and I am looking for a chinatown half but I can only find it as part of a set with other american gaff coins I don't want to buy this set because I feel that I will not use it. so I was wondering if anyone knows of a place where I can buy a single chinatown half.
thanks

That sounds odd, a Chinatown Half is normally sold by itself, not with other gaffed coins. The "matching" coin that is shown is just a regular half dollar.

Anyway, almost any magic store can sell you a single Chinatown Half, click HERE for an example. SETH

I think you are perhaps confusing the Chinatown Half with a similar (but not the same) gaff that's part of CSB set?

Here's one online source that I found with a quick internet search:

Sterling also sells an effect called "China Change" which is also a similar but not identical gaff.

The Chinatown Half is probably available from many other dealers as well. I just posted the first link that was listed when I did an internet search.

This is true, the Chinatown Half is pretty much a standard item, and almost any magic dealer should carry it. All you have to decide is which brand/manufacturer you would want.

Tango and Sterling make OK budget models. Johnson Coins makes a very good one with perhaps a more believable and nicer-looking Chinese coin (some of the cheap ones are just painted brass washers). Then there are the very expensive custom-made jobs from Lassen and Schoolcraft that feature changeable inserts and require a bang ring. SETH
