A fella said: "It would perhaps be an overstatement, but not by all that much, to describe the business side of the casino as a totalitarian state where the citizens — the employees — enjoy few if any rights, and where the organization and location of activities is intended to maximize the possibilities of surveillance. The goal of casino management is total control."
If the edge is tax then the world we all live in is a big casino it seems to me.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Well technically casinos are private clubs and you are there by invitation, and as such can be uninvited at any time, and between the casino trying to keep the negative expectation games in its favor, the cheaters out, and the various gaming commissions concerned with the protection of the state's cut of the earnings, yes they are pretty much totalitarian states, if they weren't the owners would probably loose their shirts.

The fella went on to say: "This aspiration is rarely achieved in practice, but the necessity for control is an axiom of the casino gambling industry, as well as the gaming control and law enforcement authorities."
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
