It's a combination of ingredients, really. But the most important thing of all is whether you can get the audience to like you. If you can get them to like you, and you can make a connection to them, the rest of them kind of follow.

Sometimes people with low to middle incomes will tip better than the wealthy. It's a matter of making them understand.

Those above are key! And if you want to actually make money out there you must treat your hat lines as if it's your closer. You need to rehearse the lines, the laughs, the jokes as if it's a magic trick you're learning.

Dynamike, thanks for bringing us this topic to think about. Ranking which is more important would partly depend our our individual needs to improve our presentation of magic. Righto, Bill; so, get the spectators to like you. I've been thinking about this lately. Our personality isn't a fixed thing, I reckon. I think we change to suit the street performance and hopefully that feeds back to positive changes in our behaviour when we aren't doing a Show. I guess most of us go into role playing when we put on a Show, in reality. An optomistic outlook in life, and friendliness towards others seems very important. I've found that as I've gotten older [65 years old currently] I take more interest in people - but that probably arises from being a primary level school teacher meeting lots of children every day - loving them, taking an interest in them, helping them. Self-confidence - I don't think a street magician is going to get far without this. I think that starts with realizing that the tricks and the way we present them must be to suit and please the spectators, to give them what they expect of magicians. Jimmy Talksalot in his recent book on street magic - how to behave as a street magician - "To Lure with Spectacle..." covers the Art of being a busking street magician very well. Well, that's enough from me for now. I'm going to enjoy reading what we think about important aspects for street busking.
The presentation makes the magic.

Well said Frank, it is worth repeating so I'm quoting it again.
