I think David changed his name at the advice of his agent, right before he did his Broadway show. He did a number of odd things. One was that he shaved three years off his age in all his publicity material.

Doug, on the other hand, was always interested in the Eastern philosophies, so much so that he basically abandoned his staff and went to work for the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Too bad Vedaland never materialized.

Bill, why do you feel that was odd? Because his age made no difference?

Most people think Criss Angel is nearly 20 years younger than he really is.
Ageism bothers me. I know young kids that are incredibly wise, and baby boomers who are dumber than a brick. It's relative.
Vedaland would have been very interesting.
I am not religious, but I enjoy eastern philosophy and Yoga.
When people claim Yoga to be a cure-all then they are frauds.
But it is important to maintain flexibility as one gets older to prevent injuries.
Yoga can do that. And it is relaxing. Too much stress in our world.

Two reasons:

1) It really made no difference at all.
2) It was very easy to check out.
