This topic is for those of you who do a massive production like Miser's Dream, Shower of Money, the Human Slot Machine or even Explosion but you don't close with it.
I'm looking for some cleaver ideas to follow up the Miser's Dream with. You have a pile of silver in front of you, what do you do with it? My version produces 16 dollars, not the 30 or 40 that some do.

Someone here shared a idea once that I rather liked of turning all the coins in the bucket to silver confetti.
in reed mcclintocks routine all the coins vanish - I rather like his version myself or you could simply run in though your fingers through it as if you just got rich from the audience and move on. I do a ton of stuff other then coin magic so I don;t really feel the need to stick with the coins. I suppose you could do something like charie frye's stand up coins to glass but that might be rather anti-climatic. |

So you've produced a ton of silver, step it up a notch and start producing BILLS! I'd recommend Jan Gallo's Osaka Bills. Or if you're a manipulator, try John's Manipulation Bills at Blake's East Coast Magic.

I like the idea of changing the coins to something else. I've been thinking of doing something like that for a while, can anyone point me toward a method?

Kinda depends on why you went and pulled those coins out of thin air in the first place.

Now what would motivate someone to pluck money out of thin air? I mean who wants money?
Following that motivation the only thing to do is to continue to grow the wealth. Perhaps I could produce poker chips and then cash some of them in with a series of changes....Wild Coin, Finger Tip Wild Coin, Spell Bound.....

You have to admit, producing three poker chips and then turning them into three silver dollars is perfectly motivated and almost writes it's on patter. I guess great minds think a like. I guess the real question I would ask myself would be, doing all this other stuff will it enhance the already powerful routine or take away from it or does it leave the same impression.
Is it worth the extra set up and more room for error when the spectators are already amazed with just plucking coins out of the air.. Just something to think about. Tim

Beyond just showing one can do tricks, and beyond the need to seem clever is... the audience. How about something like a miniature story told by the tricks that they can follow and even anticipate that leads to a climax they can understand? Example, you lose a borrowed quarter - it vanishes and you can't find it. So you put on special glasses that let you see coins wherever they are. You find a silver dollar in the air, nice but not the right coin so you put the dollar into your pocket and keep looking. You find lots of dollars - but still not the borrowed coin. Then you look into the bucket and see their coin, and give it back to them, and with a sigh of relief put away the glasses. You reach into the bucket and take out a fake 1million dollar bill - no coins there - only when you have the glasses on <wink>

The effect is so strong and the story (the one I use anyway) so built around the effect if anything follows it it needs to be a completely different effect to bring in completely new emotions and feelings. I am only recently learning to make an emotional connection to the audience and sometime I forget the importance of that and resort back to doing tricks.
