Here is a little effect I have been working on since I read Christian's Book. I got the idea from Voodoo II. Your opinions please.
REVENGE: "Has there ever been anyone you wanted to get revenge on? An old flame, co-worker or ex best friend for an unspeakable act, or the breaking of one's heart? REVENGE is the only answer for justice to be served. But how? Doing it by yourself can be very messy. Shoot them, strangle them, poison them…?? A hit man is too risky; too many loose ends. Why not go the way of the ancients? Make them suffer. The only true revenge is to use VooDoo. The Voodoo Doll has always been the favorite means of revenge. Here I have such a doll (show doll). Let me help you get revenge on that unfortunate folk in a completely aggressive and anonymous fashion. Madam, would you please think of a person. Who do you wish to leave a powerful cure? Here, I have a drawing of the voodoo doll. I have done enough Curses to know where you will choose to make the person that only you know suffer. I have a prediction sealed in this envelope. Here is the pin, please THRUST it into the spot you wish the entended to feel the...discomfort. Thrust away. Do you like the place you’ve inflicted the discomfort, or would you like to try another? Fine. (Hold up the punctured doll). So you chose to inflict the discomfort in the __________ area. Huh? Sure you don’t wish to change you mind?" Open the evelope, and hand the prediction to someone to read. It shows an X over the same area as the pin in the doll. WR

Eugene Burger has a routine in a similar vein called "Retribution" on his Eugene Goes Bizarre video from 1990. Very worthwhile to track down.
In it, he talks about revenge *he* once sought, and the consequences he paid for that. Instead of asking your subject if they had ever sought revenge, you might tell a revenge story from your past, then have them devine where you had made your victim suffer. Now show that they are correct. Continue with the story, and tell in detail what happened to your victim, and the remorse you felt. Perhaps a good ending would be this: say that you decided to devote your magical learning to find ways to help the person you had so hated. Then show an effect that demonstrates healing in some way.
