Could be any number of normal things that underwent what we think is abnormal decay. Organisms decay oddly in the ocean--decomposition plus nibbling of all sorts of hungry critters of all sorts of sizes. Decayed squid have been found that required lots of expert analysis before identification.
My guess is a dog, but it's only a guess. It is not, however, a turtle without its shell, which has been frequently guessed in the media. A turtle's shell is not something separate from the turtle; it is part of it. A shell-less turtle would be a mass of organs and blood. |
