Sorry about this I've already asked this question under the product's review in another section however, I feel it is less noticeable there and I think I will receive an answer to my query a lot faster in this section of the forum. In the review for this effect it was stated that the effect works on five ,and, if you wish,a dozen spectators. What I am asking is: can this effect work on less than five spectators (3 spectators.)
Thanks, Graeme (Knibby) |

Sure, but it won't be as interesting. What makes it interesting is how many people are used and how you somehow know who's lying and who is telling the truth.
I think 5 is the minimum amount I would use and 6 or more would be better. Greg

Thanks Greg. I think I will buy this effect. I just wanted to see if it was possible to perform it for a smaller number of people, although you are right the more people involved the better the effect will look (am guessing as I have yet to buy it.)
Thanks again. |

I had the pleasure of seeing Marc perform this at tabula Mentis 3 for a room full of mentalists, who all know Banachek's Ring of truth, and Maven's kurtoseke/Gaucci's Body Language/ and some Equinox from Chris Williams.
The vast vast majority (if not all) were fooled. But more importantly, it's impromptu, with borrowed business cards, and a pleasure to perform. Simple yet brilliant.

I have to say, Marc lectured this piece earlier this year in Nottingham, It was "thrown in" at the last minute so to speak but for me was the outstanding piece of the lecture. Very simple & Very very clever. I love it...Kudos to Marc Paul

Looch you have 1234 posts, you cannot post any more as you'll have bad luck.. (it's a London thing..)
Marc Paul has exceeded himself with this routine, in my very humble opinion this is one of the strongest, big playing impromptu effects out there.. Very simple as Lior says but also incredibly devious.. MS

Marc Paul's "True Lies" is the very definition of 'elegant simplicity'. It's one of those routines that made me kick myself for not thinking of it... of course, I also realized that it's so darn clever, I NEVER would have thought of it! Can't think of anything stronger that you can perform spontaneously for a small group.

Is the AAA Lie Detector the same as True Lies? I believe it is but just want to make sure I'm thinking about the same thing being discussed here.

True Lies is a 1994 action-comedy film. It was directed by James Cameron, and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton, Tia Carrere, Charlton Heston, and Art Malik. Eliza Dushku makes an early career appearance in this film. True Lies is an extended remake of the 1991 French film La Totale, directed by Claude Zidi and starring Thierry Lhermitte and Miou-Miou.
Lie Detector was a television series on PAX TV, which was renamed ION Television in 2007. Hosted by Rolonda Watts with assistance from polygraph administrator Dr. Ed Gelb, the show claims to "[examine] the truth behind real-life stories ripped from the headlines." It premiered on March 8, 2005 and ended after one season. AAA is for Associated American Artists. Ok, I stop joking Yes Mindpro it's a same thing

To join in the chorus:
Yes, this effect has a simple enough secret which is actually extremely clever. It comes with a presentation premise that can be highly interactive, interesting and engaging. Hats off to Marc Paul ! |

Hi all, more chorus joining, I saw MP perform this at the last Tabula Mentis and I'm quite sure it fooled pretty much everyone there. It is very devious indeed, and such a simple principle.

I have been performing Body Language on stage for some years and recently added the True Lies cards as an extra layer. It has enhanced my routine considerably.
Have still to use the close up version. |
