Not sure where to post this, so Ill try here. I really like the opportunities available with a Sanada Gimmick, but they seem to split down the middle.

Any ideas on strengthening them? Jay Scott Berry used flesh colored bandage tape, and I have seen duct tape used too. These help, but I think the gimmick need to be pretty rigid along the line where the "fingers" meet. Any thoughts on an epoxy applied to the "back side"

There's still something to be said for the old "tinware" gimmicks.
At least they were strong.

I think you have to add something to keep the gimmick from flexing, yet it has to be thin.
Maybe some tin strips from a can.

Good point. A tin, or more likely aluminum, Sanada painted realistically would add an extra dimension of usability and strength in holding items compressed with less pressure .

I haven't tried epoxy to coat the back of one. I just use the Jay Scott Berry method mentioned above.

To me they are like TT's : inexpensive enough to buy several .
I try to keep 2 or 3 new ones in my magic kit , in the event that I lose one or if it cracks.

The tip I was given was to glue 2 together.

Jsb also sells one that is 2 taped together for added affect. perhaps in that configuration it's also stronger by default.

Sorry this is not quite the case with FS2. It is not two Sanada taped together. If you do not have them I can see why you made the mistake. FS2 design is not for strength and in fact has less tape on the face than his clocking device.

All gimmicks now seem to be this TYPE G which is supposed to be more flexible.
I have bought JSB and the Sanada DVD with gimmick, and it is the same gimmick.

While having these for a few weeks, I can not see how these will break in the spots described.

Had mine in my pocket, sat down and it snapped in half, did not realize it until I went for it. They do break, but as said, easily replaced. If you plan on using often, buy several. If you buy 4 you have enough for a sponge ball routine.
