...and, do you have to use the card supplied or could you print up or hand-write your own (as an impromptu effect)?

Just for good orders sake here are some more questions to add to the throng:

1) Can this effect be translated to other languages or must it be performed in English?

2) Could one simply write together the list, seemingly impromptu, or is the card necessary for the effect?

3) Can one take the principles of the effect and create other lists?

4) Could the principle be applied to actual objects lying on a table?

Not sure if anyone else has got theirs yet so I guess I shall have to answer these:

1) Yes I would assume so

2) Yes with some thinking to the effect you would like to perform it could be made so that you write down the list in an impromptu manner

3) Yes it would be quite easy to make up your own card(must say that the card looks great though)

4) This could be possible - but I don't want to hint too much at what the principle is especially as £15 isn't much to ask for for both the card and a 60ish page ebook

The spectator is aksed to simply think of one of these numbers, and memorise the object associated with the number. This is all done with the performer looking away from the spectator.

Just like that?
That's it?

Actually though point two is viable, the psychology behind the card means its much easier with the card as it stands..

this is NOT mental yarn...

it's a classy looking thing; and..forgive me for doing so, but I have already tinkered with the effect, and performed it after it came at 7.44am today...

I got two people to do it, one thought of a number and remembered the word next to it...and try and send that word to the second person...

I asked the second person to relax and just quickly look at one word upon the list...to see if the first person really could mentally influence them in a free decision...

so I got the first person to start describing their object, the one they were trying to transmit/influence the other to pick...

the word and description matched...

apologies to mr. brook though, I didn't read the entire instructions..

but they are written out in his usually high standards, with a script and the hidden psychology behind everything...

anyway..that was me, this morning, outside the bakers...warm bread in hand, and I calmly walked away leaving two people agog and looking at each other in amazement..oh and swearing..

excellent product...well done paul...

This seems interesting (as almost anything I've read from Paul up to know!) so I will need to check this out when I have more time.

This is truly great! I have been doing this none stop since I bought it.

The is great for 2 reasons... It is totally self contained & can play, one on one, surrounded or even in a theater.

To all those who automatically nay say: Do it yourself before you criticize. If it still doesn't work for you then you are probably a total plank. Only a fool would think that this is a weak effect...

Awaiting the first

Hey...

I will get onto my initial thoughts on this in a moment, but first I want to direct some comments towards Zerububle...

First off I agree that this is a fantastic piece, but I have no idea why you come out and come across so offensively. It appears you believe that no-ones opinion is valid unless it's the same as yours.
If this doesn't work for someone then that in no way means they are a 'plank' as you put it, just that this is not for them, and perhaps don't have the confidence etc.
I have seen no 'nay sayers' in this thread so far, but everyone is entitled to their feelings and thoughts no matter what.

Also, you have made a statement about the product which is actually not mentioned within, and that though possible, would be extremely risky, and this is why Paul makes sure that you know how you should be doing that part. I won't say that part here, but if you PM me I will explain what I mean.

Now onto this product...

I have not performed this for anyone as of yet, having only just received it this morning, but I have fully read through the manuscript and am actually just about to have a go.
The card itself is nicely done, quality stuff.
The manuscript is made up of 65 pages, which covers absolutely everything you would need to know to get the most out of this piece, from performing one-on-one, to reading 2 specs minds at the same time. He goes into all the subtleties and nuances of this piece, the language used and why, and the pacing etc, all of which is up to the standards that Paul Brooks has become known for.
One part I thought was nice to include was the process in which led to this piece being how it is now. You learn of how it first began and what it was like, and then from experimentation, performing, gaining feedback etc, how over time it has morphed and changed bit by bit, ending with what we have now.

Everything seems to have been completely worked on and thought through, the psychology, the linguistics, the routining/handling, all of which appears to be excellent.

As I have said, I will be giving this a go in a moment, and will be sure to post how it goes and what I think based on this.

As it is now, I am more than happy with this purchase, and am looking forward to putting it to the test.

Cheers.

I love this little ditty, which now sits comfortably next to my Sanctum II card...

The thinking that went into this pays off with all the subtleties of design, routining, and handling.

The 65 page book is well written and gives you so many different ideas for presentation and handling, depending on the type of audience you have.

Paul's thinking is superb and this is indeed very clever. The price is right for this gem of pocket mentalism.

Combining this effect with Sanctum and Kioku might lead to a good mini-act in itself for closeup situations. Will order it soon.

Someone else brought it up but I don't think anyone said whether or not this was the same as Jim Pace's effect?
