The rubber band in my folding quarter just broke, and now I have all this goo in the groove. Any tips on cleaning it out?

I use a small screwdriver turned sideways to clean the groove.

That should work...now I just have to find a screwdriver small enough.

I use an X-Acto knife(#11), razor blade or an open safety pin.

Sometimes, using a pencil eraser works.

I always had best results using dental floss in the groove.

Any tips on getting the rubber band onto the quarter? There must be some trick to it that I am missing.

Ok, it seems I answered my own question. I used a pencil tip and fingers to stretch band onto middle section first, and then fit the other 2 sections into place.
