Well this little gem finally showed up and I absolutely love it! What is amazing to me is all this time I seriously was baffled by this effect. And just prior to receiving it I figured it out and I am so glad that this product is made so well and thought out perfectly! It honestly is a beautiful piece of vision Magic! Mr.Thayer had a wonderful magical mind.
Good magic to all, Eric |

I have this and have been looking for a box to store the ball that would look like a nuclear storage case from Hollywood.

One of the cheap import knock-offs of Joe Porper's Strong Box might be just what you're looking for. Since you're not using it for the Porper routine, it might absolve you of the terrible guilt experienced from buying the knock-off.

That's a fantastic idea Julie, and, aside from the aesthetic beauty of the box, it could actually be worked into the routine.
One idea would be to have the box in ready position out of sight of the performance area. Perform the U-235 routine and talk about the special characteristics of the ball. Mention that it can't even be stored safely since no solid walls can contain it. Offer to demonstrate and have the spectator initial or mark the ball. Drop it behind the table and they'll hear the clink as it lands inside the box. Do what is necessary with the box and remove it, letting the spectator discover their marked ball inside the locked box. Since there are so many magic effects that use metal balls, additional demonstrations using Ball Through Hand, or Caballa (Ball Through Glass) could also be demonstrated to further prove that the ball was unique in nature.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

All great ideas, WOZ! If one could paint several balls (5-6?) different colors that would expand the possibilities even further.
I wonder if friend dfolson (and others) might seriously work on this and give us some feedback... What was that routine manufactured by Johnson Products where a metal square was rolled on your hand or the table and became a metal ball bearing and then changed into a half dollar? Without looking it up, I think it may have been called The Mint. Julie |
