I've heard "through the grapevine" that a couple of names will be attending the Eric Mead lecture in Toronto on August 17th.
At least three of them (I've heard) will be teaching a trick themselves. I don't know, maybe you've heard of these guys... Jamy Ian Swiss, Jason England, Michael Weber? Couple that with the fact that the audience will consist of other '31 Faces North' attendees and this is a lecture nobody should miss. Hope to see you all there... Jeff Hinchliffe

Ok ok, I'm going... Geez, it's hard to pass something like this up.
Is this a pay-at-the-door thing?

Not sure if you can pay at the door. I'd put in a call to Browsers Den to make sure.

Uhhh, who is Eric Mead?

Um... a magician?
Go to his website, ericmead.org. You probably haven't heard of him cause he rarely ever lectures for magicians, he's too busy working (and his clients include companies like Merill-Lynch and Amazon). His first major book Tangled Web got rave reviews. He's going to be teaching some of his pet professional routines, some work with the memorized deck and he's brought friends (as Jeff mentioned). |

OK, so he's a working magician. There's a lot of them out there that you have probably never heard of.
I sincerely hope you enjoy his lecture and that you might be inspired. |

I've never yet been disappointed by a lecture put on by Magicana. They have good taste.

Would anyone like my spot at the lecture? I've paid, but can't go. I'll tell Browsers that you're to use my spot.
If you're interested, please PM me.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to attend AND get a front row seat at Eric Mead's Toronto lecture. First of all, I was completely starstruck. Not just by Mead, but also by:
Roberto Giobbi Bob Sheets Johnny Thompson Jamy Ian Swiss Aaron Fisher Lee Asher John Carney Ricky Smith Jr. Max Maven Michael Weber Jason England Stephen Minch and so many more. I was literally in a room full of some of today's greatest magicians and mentalists. Anyways, on with the lecture. The lecture was the best I have seen yet. Eric Mead taught us some ingenious original effects and sleights that, I believe, are currently unpublished. This includes a dead easy and very visual mid-air card production, and a certain "move" done in the context of a card spring. He also taught an ingenious and impromptu Coin Through Drinking Glass that ended totally and completely clean, as well as an extremely convincing false shuffle. And who could forget his ultra-clean and very visual version of Threefly? Jamy Ian Swiss taught us a very nice effect involving a random card repeatedly finding two selections. Jason England taught us an incredible and ingenious four-ace location. And Michael Weber fooled me BADLY with an incredible effect using a memorized deck. There was so much priceless information, and it was totally humbling to be sitting in a room full of my idols. Overall, I'm so happy I went.
