After the initial purchase, are there any other costs involved? Any particular equipment needed, etc.? I hope that doesn't sound like I am fishing, just wondering if it is something that will cost each time you do it?

Hi,
You don't need to purchase anything to perform the mind readings, the remote view, or the Game of the Imagination. Please feel free to email me or PM me if you have any more questions. Jay Crowe

'The Game' by Jay Crowe does what it says in the ad copy.
This is a very valuable asset to mentalists and can have an extremely deep impact on people. It's not my particular style per se but HAS got me thinking in other ways. I feel Jay should be commended for his wonderful efforts and I know the majority of people are going to love this release (I do as well)! I think this concept is quite sound and very, very good and while not my thing, I much appreciate Jay's thinking here and efforts to make mindreading and mentalism as real and pure as it can be. I consider my purchase absolutely well worth it and you get a lot of useful information for your buck! I can't really see anyone going wrong with this purchase. It's priced very modestly and has enormous potential. As a tool for the well-rounded mentalist I feel there is extreme value to be had here whether one uses these principles or not. It's a great thing to know! I had some difficulties with the file Jay sent and his customer service was BEYOND EXCELLENT. We PM'd and emailed back and forth until the issue was sorted out and he really took the time and energy to make everything right for me and as enjoyable as possible. I really appreciate your attention to customer service, Jay. You have a fine product here and I wish you all the best with it. In any case, I highly recommend 'The Game' by Jay Crowe and feel it has enormous use and potential! Best, Jerome F.

I bought this based on this, a direct statement from the creator. The book is good, the methodology is something I have used before & it is an excellent tool for mentalists. You will be able to do some great stuff with it. I would definitely recommend the book. My problem is that the statement,"The Game allows you to approach a random stranger, ANYONE, at any time and instantly perform one of the most baffling mind readings that they will ever see", isn't really accurate. 1) Approach a random stranger 2) Anyone at any time 3) INSTANTLY perform one of the most baffling mind readings that they will ever see. Not exactly accurate! Maybe if we add the word "seemingly" to the description. I have already gave my opinion of the method being good & usefeul,my problem is that- IT CAN NOT BE PERFORMED AS DESCRIBED! You can get close to that, but not that clean. I am not debating the methodology,it is quite good & you will get a lot of mileage out of it if purchased. My concern is that you can not approach a random person, any time anywhere & instantly do a reading, sounded too good to be true anyway. Once again, it is a good book! I was just disappointed that it doesn't play out like the description said it did. And no, I wasn't expecting real magic or mind reading(but one can dream) Jay has a nice book here & you should get it! The Game of Imagination is really good! Mike |

Michael,
Thanks for your input, I'm always interested in the feedback from our customers. Like we have spoken by email, I respect your opinion, and you are completly entitled to it. I have to disagree when you say the ad is misleading because it isn't. Ad's are always written from the point of view of spectators. EVERYTHING described on the ad is true, and works as described, either you accept it or not. You are bashing something that you said you were "well aware" and that YOU USE "all the time". I'm confused It's so bad, that you use it. This is a work that contains my own personal experience plus ideas, routines and subtleties by the top professionals from our field, I'm confident with it, and so 99% of The Game owners. Again, I'm sorry that I couldn't suit your style, and I respect your thoughts. All The Best, Jay Crowe

I was very disappointed with my purchase of “the Game” and would not recommend it. I generally don’t post negative reviews, but am at a loss to understand all the glowing reviews I’ve seen and, especially in light of Luke B's last post, wanted people to know that not everyone is enamored with this product. For many reasons, I think most performers will not be pleased with this.
The primary problem is that the methods Jay provides are simply not practical for the vast majority of performing mentalists. To accomplish anything that I would consider remotely impressive, you will need to be prepared to spend a significant amount of money for each performance and hire an assistant to be on call for the entire performance. This is a significant limitation that anyone purchasing this effect should definitely know about, but is not even hinted at in the product description. The cheaper or even “free” alternative would look to your audience something like this: You walk up to a group of people. You ask the name of one of them. It is a very common name, so you turn to someone else and ask theirs. Their name is more distinctive. At this point, you step away from the crowd for several minutes. When you return, you are able to tell them their phone number and possibly their address. If this sounds wildly impressive to you, then you may be happy with “the Game.” But I don’t suspect most spectators would find it quite so impressive. Now, I know that Jay indicates that it is possible to reveal other information, such as the spectator’s age, with the “free” method, and I would agree that with certain spectators, this may be possible. But there is no guarantee that you will be able to reveal this additional information with any spectator. You may not even be able to reveal their address or phone number. I will tell you that in my experience, testing with thirty possible spectators, with 27, I would have been able to reveal no more than their address and phone number. With three, I would have also been able to reveal their ages, but in two of those instances, the age would have been incorrect. If being able to accurately predict someone's age in out of thirty tries like good odds to you, then this might be a good purchase. In none of these cases would I have been able to reveal the names of any relatives or the person’s specific birth date. Also, I sincerely doubt that this methodology will be new information to anyone with even a passing knowledge of the internet. Most have, I’m sure, thought of it but, like myself, considered it entirely impractical for performing mentalism. I have discussed this with Jay through email (who, I will say, has been very quick and willing to respond), and he has responded that my practicality concerns were premature as this is really “JUST a concept” (his choice of capitalization) and “not even close to perfection.” Based on the ad description, I expected far more than a poorly fleshed out “concept.” Perhaps you do too. I understand that Banacheck has called the information in this book “dangerous,” and I suppose it could be – just as knowing the information to contact a hit man could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Unlike that example, the methods provided in this book are not illegal. But if you intend to use them on an important client, and get called out (which I believe is entirely possible if you are using the “more impressive” method), I can just about guarantee they will be angry and that you will lose business. This is something else potential purchasers should know. I noticed just this morning that Jheff has reviewed this product on his page, and we appear to be in agreement on this product. Perhaps you will find value in “the Game,” but we did not. |

I tried using this "system" by utilizing a couple of my friends, and I got eroneous information. I also could not get it to work for my name. I got incorrect information as well. I am unable to get even a phone number. This "COULD" work and be very impressive. Then again, it may not work at all. I don't think it was worth the money for my purposes.

On 2008-08-27 05:59, Jay Crowe wrote: Saying that magic ads are are always written from the point of view of the spectator is incorrect. If that were so, then the ad for The Game wold read like this- Imagine if someone could approach you that has never met you before, and they instantly perform one of the most perfect mind readings in history. The person asks you to focus on let's say... your age, just imagine it. Instantly they reveal your age. Next they tell you to concentrate on someone you love, someone you care about. And they start revealing the name. And the mind reading goes on... they ask you to merely THINK of your phone number, they take their cell phone and start dialing digit by digit. your phone rings. It's them. Welcome to The Game. That is how the effect would be explained from the spectators point of view & would have been a more honest description. Ad descriptions should clearly define the effect, not what you MAY be able to do or what it may SEEM like you can do. Saying EVERYTHING described on the ad is true, and works as described, either you accept it or not. [quote]On 2008-08-26 22:18, Michael Peterson wrote: Quote:

To me it's like going to buy a car that is supposed to have a C.D. player in it, but you find it has a cassette player in it instead & the person selling the car telling you that you could record you C.D.'s on to a cassette & listen to them that way. That would work, right? In a round about way, you could listen to your C.D.'s, but it is not what you thought you were getting based on the description. Quote:

Jay has made it clear that many people, including top professionals like The Game., The ones who don't like it,Jay seems to want to convince us that were wrong. Those who bought it, tried it & found it did not work for them are going to be convinced otherwise? Wow, that is a pretty amazing effect in itself. Mike |

First of all...
This is a tool. Jay outlines this in the first pages of the booklet. It is NOT a foolproof 'effect' with many outs, which is the soup de jour with a lot of mental releases, it is a CONCEPT which *can* be used to provide amazing effects. If you didn't like it, that's fine, hey, I don't like a lot of what I purchase, but theres no need to review this as if it was advertised as a super-effect, as it wasn't. It was sold as a concept, a tool, almost a utility for the mentalist. Just my tuppence. CL

Michael,
First I'm not here to brainwash you, I'm here to help anyone with their questions, comments or concerns. You are free to have your own opinion, and you are completly entitled to it. It's your opinion. But I would like to make some points clear. Your posts are absolutely non sense. They came from someone who USES THE CONCEPT and "ALL THE TIME". So, you don't like it, "it doesen't" works but you "USE IT ALL THE TIME". In YOUR own words. I'll let everyone decide what they think about your claims Please stop now, otherwise I'll think you are kidding me Michael. Again, I'm sorry you didn't like my book because you use what's taught "all the time" mate. The concept of The Game should not be used an instant miracle, you don't take it out of the box and perform it. Many of the negative posters, placed their reviews hours after their purchase. I think that this says a lot about how some 'professionals' use my material, and other creator's material. I understand that everyone is always seeking some kind of miracle, but I regret to say that there's no such thing. Sucess is achieved through hard work. The work I shared in this booklet is the result of YEARS of practice and experience using it. Don't expect to be sucessful if you don't give it the time it needs. Many of the most well known mentalists in the community have been using the basic concept for many years, and they shared with me WONDERFULL applications that they USE with a lot of sucess. So, I really cannot accept when someone jumps in the thread and says "It's unpractical" or "it doesen't works". Well, it does work. It works not only for me but also for many customers and for many pros that I can name. If you say "it's not my style" or "I don't like the method", that's COMPLETELY understandable and I trully respect that. I don't like everything out there. Like stated on the ad, The Game is for professionals, and professionals have talent. That's why The Game has been working for them for years, and always will. Best Wishes

I'm done going forth and back with this Michael. Everyone can read what I posted about your "issue" and decide what they think about it.
I stand 100% behind my product, and my statements, and YES it works as advertised. If you would ask me if there is any work involved during that "anytime & anywhere" YES there is work involved, and the book FULLY describes how to perform the mind readings under any condition. So, my ad and my statements are true. You really should accept the fact that you bought something that you were already using in a certain, and very basic way. And because of that, you are now trying to bash the book. It really disappoints me your reaction, because we both now The Game works, and you USE it. I wish you all the best, and a lot of sucess, and I honestly hope you find more quality material to suit your needs. If anyone has any questions about The Game, please feel free to drop me a line: jay@whosmagic.com

I was kinda dissapointed in the limited info you can reveal in Canada but the extras in the book made up for that. I'd recommend it to anyone in the states but I do think it would be perfect over the phone and Instant messaging. very cool.
