As far as B.I.P goes, nice test, I just prefer a book test the spec can actually hold in their hands and look through Why take it personal? a few of us here just don't like it. there are universally good things said about you. And I disagree entirely on your comments on BIP. My participants handle it throughout the demonstration. Respectfully Anyway, as you request, back on topic. Relic is great. |

1. Panther Wallet
2. Reflections 3. Sanctum 5. Ricks' great attitude and service 4. The shouting lady introductory screan on the Outlaw website The US Trilogy and Withches Almanac are up there too, but I use them less often... and we are only supposed to mention three and I am already up to five. |

I have Homicide, Kioku, Panther, Scorpion, Sanctum II, and Relic.
Of those, I use Kioku constantly, and keep the cards in the Panther wallet so I'm ready when the opportunity presents itself. The Relic is a part of my bizarre show, and I use Scorpion now and again behind the bar. Sanctum II fascinates me. I've had it for a couple of months, but I've yet to perform it under fire. It's one of those routines that's a !@#$% to script (if you know what I mean.) There are things I really like about it (concept, routine) and other things I'm not so content with (prop, back story, instruction editing.) I wish I could order a set from Rick made to my specifications--I think I'd probably actually perform it then. But please, don't get me wrong here. I think every mentalist ought to own Sanctum--if only to see the potential this concept and routine have. |

As I am especially interested in book tests, I have Luna (1936), Murder Trilogy (US), Witches Alamanac and Reflections. Each has something to commend it. I am especially impressed with Outlaw's "antiqued" products (the only comparable simulated "antique" items I've seen are from the late Tony "Masklyn ye Mage" Andruzzi or Carl "Brother Shadow" Herron). Witches Alamanac would fit nicely with a seance program. Reflections is easy to carry in your pocket and ideal for use in those occasional impromptu situations. The amount of memory required is minimal and should be well within the ability of any competent performer.

I only have three at the moment (am anxiously waiting on number four too, as I'm sure many of us are), but I think each of them are fantastic in their own environments.
Panther - just awesome in general, can't wait to see what the hideout is like Luna - Incredibly clever, the only booktest I perform at the moment (love the aged look) Sanctum II - Not for everybody, but if you spend the time on the presentation and back story then its an incredible performance

I love all the ones I have, but the best for me are Kioku, Luna and Sanctum 2. They are truly brilliant.

I'm startin ta take this thread a little personal guys. He just wanted to know what you like, not what you "threw on a pile somewhere" Sorry Rick, please don't take it personally. Perhaps I should have phrased my comments more delicately, I apologise if my tone offended you, I can be incredibly clumsy sometimes. best wishes, steve |

The best bulk deal -- if you can afford it -- is one each. I am looking forward to raising more funds (see books for sale) over my needs to pay rent so I can shift some to Osterland and Outlaw.

Just to add Rick...
As has been previously stated, you are very well liked and respected due to the quality of your posts and your service/products. However a critique of Outlaw (products)with the prequisite of 'positive comments only' will be of little value. I was very unhappy when I recieved Sanctum. Despite the very very good booklet/manuscript: which was truly excellent: like an episode from 'the outer limits' with an in depth and engaging back story, I felt that all credibility would be lost on showing the card. Even a skilled actor, following your magnificent script would be totally compromised by such an appaling prop. Imagine ...you are a member of a secret society, who meet at a secret location, you produce a membership card, with a photo/painting? of the room you meet in. Man.. it looks like it came free with a pack of chewing gum. The premise is totally and uterly compromised. Pulling this off would be as unrealistic as dressing up in panto lions outfit, and then getting into a cage with a bunch of real lions at your local zoo....no way hozay. Could I have done better? Absolutely no chance of coming up with such a brilliant concept, backstory and overall original presentation. Could I have produced a better 'room'? YES, without a shadow of a doubt, I have worked for 26 years in art and design, and would certainly have created an illustration worthy of 'Outlaw effects' far superior to the mish mash, undermining and derogatory attempt from the 'artist' previously involved. BTW... the 'front' of the card is very good. with respect, steve |
