Whatever happened to Ellen Kotzin, the lady who started this thread way back when?
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

"Bye Bye Birdie," "Oliver," "My Fair Lady" always little minor characters. The only thing "musical" I did in New York would be a black theater group in Queens that put together an original production called; "Deadwood Dick - Legend of the West" about three black cowboys trying to become legends and the _white_ legends (I played Jesse James) who didn't want there to BE any "black" legends!

I like "Man of La Mancha." Don Quixote sees a different world with different possibilities, and eventually his companions are pulled into his world. His world of delusion is not unlike the world of illusion magicians seek to create.
Here's my favorite line from the play: "When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams, this may be madness. To seek treasure where there is only trash... too much sanity may be madness! And maddest of all... to see life as it is and not as it should be!"
It's still magic even if you know how it's done.
