Did anyone see the coffee mug chop cup? I thought that was very well done. He also did a change tray with two decks of cards stacked on top of each other turning into a mouse. The standard die wouldn't fit into Angel's repertoire because of how he presents everything like he's superhuman - large dice aren't just lying around Harrah's New Orleans. But the tray was there because he stooged up a cocktail waitress and had her deliver drinks on it. In any event, I enjoyed both of these tricks. Next week seems to be focused on close-up sleights.

I was very pleased with that coffee cup routine. It made me say "See? He doesn't need camera tricks to 'majish!'"
I will definately watch next weeks, I love sleights and close-up!

That has got to be the best presentation of TV card frame I remember saw. Honorable mention to glass penetration frame (table) I remember Blaine doing it in a jewelry store. Makes you dream if you had millions of dollars and your own facility you could do ANYTHING to and gimmick in ANY way you wanted anywhere. Must be totally awesome.
Thanks,

I saw that episode as well. I'm really glad CA is getting more and more into closeup. The reactions he got were really good and it plaid well on TV.
I think now people are kind of used to the grand illusion things and want to see something different. It was a good and welcomed change. |

You don't think the Chop Cup routine was edited?
Unedited would mean you have one camera straight on during the entire routine with no zooming, cut-aways or directing of the shots.

If you watch it again, the coffee cup goes out of frame. Hardly a "continuous" shot where everything is shown.
