flourish dude Inner circle from ? But I know where I am going! 1195 Posts |
I am looking for a good routine to use in family shows that has a prediction from three people with three different object. Like a card, a number, and maybe a color.
Something not sure they can be anything as long as they are 3 different things. Any ideas of references would be great Thanks.... I think it might be called an open prediction?

HI,
I would go to this link and buy ($24.00) "the very modern mindreader" notes . this will give you a very good version of triple prediction effect using just a normal pad (examinable) http://www.osterlindmysteries.com/store.html The other effects in the book are good to Phillip |

I agree with Phillip...Osterlind's routine is great. If you get Magic magazine, there is a good routine in David Kaye's column (Silly Billy) on using music in a mental epic routine. I think Ken Scott may have given input for the idea. Ken?

Yep. the routine i do is kerry pollacks. It was written up in the Magic Mag last. I use Joe Lefler board Mental epic. NO FORCE.
I have the first person think of any animal and then the music who let dogs out comes on. VERY FUNNY Moment. Then we ask for them to think of a TV show and then the Andy Griffith show comes on. For the third I ask them to think of any girl singer and then Michael Jackson song comes and I look at the sound booth and say " I said girl singer" and then a different Michael Jackson song comes on. At the end all three predictions match when the third one is shown the music Hallahjuh comes on. This is a BIG part of my Adult and sometimes family show. Ken |

Hi Flourish Dude:
Another option is to check out some of Mark Strivings' material. His book, "Magic for Young'ens" has a number mentalism routines designed for kids/family audiences. He has a number of items he sales separately too. One of them just might be what you're looking for. I think MagicSmith and Hocus-Pocus carry most of his stuff. I was quite impressed by his presentations. Ron Reid |

Hi Ken...you are the man, as usual.
Bill...this is very similar to the routine that we talked about in person that I've used in my adult show (and some family shows) for about five years. I got help with it from Joe Lefler, who gives credit to Kerry Pollack. It's a big part of my show. Very funny stuff.

I have one from Bruce Burnstien. (going south lecture notes) It is a heads or tail, a card and last a number. I am going to play with to see. But It may not be a funny as Tim's or Scott's.

I have an old book of mental magic for kids called, "Saturday's Kid Show" it's a revised version of "Mentalistrix for Kids" by Walt Hudson. It has a 20 routines from various contributors (Bruno, Ross, Ford, Steinacker, Tilford, Ogden, Hudson...).
I made the props for one of the effects called "Fun-E-Mental" and had a lot of fun with it. It's like a Mental Epic routine, but you don't use a board. You have large Cartoon poster boards which three kids hold. You write their thoughts in the "brain" of the character. It a well thought out piece. I laminated it all and use dry erase markers. Predictions are all written on different colored cards (to match color of "brain").
