And it was great. I believe that his biggest asset is his ability to relate to his audience. No matter the size or age of the audience he performed with the greatest energy and class. He was funny, quick and remembered everyones name. He used a lot of the audience members during his show something that DC doesn't do as much any more. His show was well rehearsed and everything went according to plan. I am going next Thursday to see it again this time with a client. I can't wait. If you are in Reno in the next month you have to go see it. The best was that he spent a lot of time after the show to meet with his fans, sign autographs and give advice. He and his cast are class acts.

Brian is right on here. A very nice theater. I think that it seats around 200. Maybe a few more.

I'm gald to hear Eli is doing well. He is one of the "good guys" you gotta root for. I've had a few opportunites to work with him and hang with him over the years and he is a good, honest dude.

That to me is so important to any illusionist or performer. I want people walking out of there remembering Me and the overall Experience I am creating. I do not want them remembering only a prop or an illusion or the deck of cards I held in my hand. It is about connecting with the audience through out the show and taking the audience on a journey controlled by you. getting them to know who you are and connecting with them on a personal level. I feel a lot of illusionist do not work enough on this apsect of their magic or show. It is great to see those who do.

What Casino Did Eli work at in Reno for a while? Was it the flamingo? Down town?

Yes, it was the OLD Flamingo Hilton... it was called "The Golden Phoenix" and his show was 'supposed' to be there for a 1 month 'trial' and was there till they literally closed down over a full year later when he won “Casino Review Show” of the year.
Eli IS one of the good ones... smart guy too! Deano in Reno <><

I saw the show and about 2 months ago and it was great. Very well timed and the audience interaction was very nice. Eli's a great guy. I talked with him after the show and he let me in on a few good local bookstores, one of which had a complete first edition Tarbell Course. Bought that on the spot.
By any chance does anyone know the name of the opener that also worked the small lounge outside the main theater? Dylan |

Dylan,
It could have been either Jacques or Sasha. Most likely Jacques Simard. Take care. BYUDAD |

Thanks BYUDAD. It was Jacques. He was really entertaining but he left before I had a chance to speak with him.

Dylan,
You are welcome. I have spent some time with him, he is a cool dude and you will never look at magic performance the same after talking with him. I think that he is one of the best close up guys I have ever seen. Do you live around Reno? BYUDAD |
Juliegel Loyal user 294 Posts |
No I do not. I wish I did. I was only in town for a family affair and decided to see the show while I was there. Around where I live there is next to nothing in the realm of magic. I live just about as far up as you can get in California without going into Oregon.
Oh well. Dylan |
