Hi
Can anyone tell me if Jim Snack's 'Success-In-Magic' program would be a worthwhile investment for someone living in the UK? Is the material just as relevant to the UK market or is it geared more towards the US? I've emailed the same question via the website but have yet to receive a reply, so in the meantime, I'm hoping someone can shed a little light on this. Many Thanks Harrison

Sorry, I did not get your emailed question, but let respond here, as it has been asked before. The course details how I built my business working as a family entertainer in a 200 mile radius of the capital of New York State. Volume Two in particular has specific information and strategies about working in many different types of markets for a magician. Some of that information will have limited value in the UK. Volume One, however, is about business strategies and tactics that will apply anywhere. Also, the audio seminars, especially the Smart Business for Family Entertainers lectures, contain universal information that will help you in the UK. You can find more detailed information about the course on the website. I bought Jim's course a couple of years ago and applied what he wrote. It WORKED!! It paid for itself in the first month of applying his method and I use it constantly. Even in these times when some of us are saying how "bad the business is," I have a steady stream of income. Yes, it's a little harder now than last year, but jim's course still works!!
I will admit that some in this section have accused me of being down on the marketing stuff, and they are right. I am down on the stuff that just makes money for the writer of the program. Jims course will make YOU money!! It is worth far more than he charges!! Peter "Paddy" Lansing |

I also wholeheartedly endorse Jim's course. I bought it two (three?) years ago and refer back to it frequently. It has paid for itself many, many times over.

I purchased mine 4 years ago and highly recommend it for any market, as the ideas are applicable to anyone. Jim's course really is the straight stuff.

I couldn’t possibly recommend Jim’s Success-In-Magic course for too many reasons to list!
Understanding the absolute primer for the foundation for your success is not ‘reginal’. Laying in the groundwork, setting up an office, producing maximum profit from cutting 5 years off your journey to success, as well as some proven marketing examples is the sorts of things EVERY SINGLE BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL “needs” to know regardless of where you are on the planet. Other course that FOCUS specifically on marketing alone… well maybe (though it has never been proven to me) some “marketing” principle may not translate exactly or perfectly, but JIM’S information is a whole bunch MORE that just some ‘marketing ideas’. This is NOT some “magic bullet marketing” thing! Jim specifically outlines the details, intricacies of “BUILDING A PROFIT MAKING & SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS” by applying the proven insights and experience of another one of us who has DONE IT! Personally, I think Jim’s course is REQUIRED for “anyone” (new or experienced) in business BEFORE you get any other “marketing” course because it sets you up from maximum success from the ground up! => “TAKE THAT” Harvard Business School! (Hehehehe!) I think too, that it is a bit ‘unfair’ to call what Jim put together a “course” when in fact, what it REALLY IS, is a “personal business coach” in a binder that will take you step-by-step all the way through the proven, successful building of your solid business enterprise! Honestly, if you don’t have a solid, foundational base in place (and MOST do not no mater who or where you are in the world!) you will work 10 ties harder that you ever should have to! I'd love to ramble on and on...but all I can say is DITTO. Snack's stuff is the REAL DEAL. You've got to have it if you're serious about the business. While Your Mileage May Vary based on your local market and unique circumstances, the principles Jim shares will work for you if you put them into action.

I got the SIM Course from Jim about 3 years ago, and it has made a HUGE difference for me. I later got his Secrets of the Motivational Magician, and just recently purchased the Ice Cream Social and the School Show packet. Jim's stuff is GOLD, and worth every penny, but even more than that, Jim is amazing with how helpful he is. The Dean is absolutely right when he says the course is more a personal business coach in a binder than just a course. IF you apply the things that are taught, this course will pay for itself in no time.

Question? Are all of you on Jim Snack's Payroll? I purchased his course and found it to be very out of date and not at all a good buy. I tried to return the course but I missed the 30-Money Back by 2 or 3 days. This is NOT a course to invest in. Do not waste your money. I have been performing for 25 years now and I purchased the couse to see if I could use Jim's advice and it does not work. Perhaps 10 years ago it would have worked but not today. If you need tips on how to be successful go to the likes of Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, etc. They have the answers to success.

I LOVE IT that we can have a difference of opinion and obvious success experience and still agree to disagree agreeably... different strokes for different folks, right?
I agree that there is no 'magic bullet' with Jim's or ANY other information... and to be clear it is NOT "Jim’s stuff information that works for everyone it is the APPLICATION of that tested, tried and true info that makes the difference... I applied what Jim shares and have made hundreds of thousands of dollars with it... maybe Rodney did not, that’s fine as well. After only a month (by 2 or 3 days) I can’t see how all of what Jim share could have possibly been applied and TESTED by “anyone” to see if it works or not, but that is just me, so it may be just ‘guesswork’ tat what Jim shares is out of date and doesn’t work when so many says that it clearly DOES work! I also agree that success comes in all sorts of information I LOVE what Warren Buffet and Bill Gates have to say as well, but truthfully I have made waaaaaay more money off what Jim has shared that what Warren Buffet and Bill Gates had to share "for me"... just saying I guess we just get to agree to dis-agree, agreeably! Thanks to everyone who spoke in support of my Success in Magic course. Just to clarify something:
Rodney Palmer did indeed purchase the ebook downloadable version of my course in August 2007 taking advantage of my Back to School 30% discount. In addition to the downloadable version of the course, I also sent him a free mp3 of the Smart Business lecture. He did contact me again in January of this year asking for a refund and I sent following reply: Dear Rodney, Now, regarding your request for a refund, you wrote that the material was outdated and just plain common sense. If you have been in the business for 25 years I can understand how some of the material may seem like common sense to you, but remember, what may seem like common sense to you, is not so common for someone with less experience, trying to get their business started, or to take it to the next level. Even with your many years of experience, I'm surprised that you did not learn or adapt one thing of value. For example, the Magic Show & Ice Cream Social idea explained in my Smart Business Lecture is a great strategy. That idea alone has thousands of dollars for me and other magicians who have used the idea. Have you tried it? Have you ever sold a show to a theater and made money that way? Three different ways to book a theater show are fully explained in Volume Two. Again, something that has made me thousands of dollars. I suggest you re-read everything as I think you may have missed some gems. I've had several well-know magicians with a lot of successes under their belts purchase the course and not one complained about the content. In fact, just the opposite. Also, included with the course was a free 30-minute career consultation and 90 days of unlimited email support. If you found yourself in a new situation, as you mentioned, and was looking for advice, why didn't you take advantage of the free call and just pick up the phone? The career consultation is worth more than you paid for the entire course. I just don't understand your dissatisfaction, but I will consider your request for a refund, even five months after your purchase. But I do have a few stipulations. I want to know with a little more detail how I can improve the course. What parts did you feel were outdated? What were you looking for that was not included? I am revising the course for this spring and your specific input would be helpful. Also, I would like the opportunity to satisfy you as a customer before terminating our business relationship. I've recently added a new section on booking corporate and association events and would be willing to send that update at no charge. Furthermore, I am still willing to discuss your particular challenges in a 30 minute career consultation and will still honor the 90 days of unlimited email support. I will be traveling until next Wednesday and unable to do anything until next week anyway, so take your time thinking about those questions and get back to me at your convenience. So sorry but you left off many items in the above post. I DID CALL you and at that particular time you did NOT have time for me. I had sent you many emails that you stated you never received. I find that somewhat bothersome with the emails. I stated to you on more than one occassion that I sent many emails and you claim you never received them. I cannot control cyber space but the emails were sent. I truly believe that you are a good performer but that your materials were outdated and yes I tried Ice Cream socials way before your book. Ice Cream socials in my city DO NOT work. As for the rest of the material it should be sent out as introductory material for people who have NO Experience whatsoever. The material is just NOT GOOD. And this is my personal opinion on most of the so called professionals out ther who are touting these types of material. They only benefit your pocketbooks and nothing else. And it really all boils down to where you live and whom you are trying to market your show to. That is the last time that I will repond to this post. Rodney

You're "class" all the way. That's what I like about you. Rodney, I'm extremely critical of all these magic marketing courses. Like you, I've been in the business better than 30 years. That being said, I still thought Jim's course was the best of the bunch. I'm being sincere. Besides giving you links (in some cases) Jim even told you what tricks he used for various venues. His course was very easy reading and I have referred back to it many times. While I have never tried Jim's "Ice Cream Social," I still think it's a winner. Rodney, if you didn't like Jim's stuff, I'd hate to think what you thought of other magic marketing courses. |
