FOUND Magazine's By The Time I Get To Europe Tour "2008!"
After 7 years of sharing magical finds in hundreds of North American cities, FOUND Magazine's Davy and Peter Rothbart take their rowdy, exhilarating reading-and-music extravaganza across Europe for the first time ever!! Davy delivers hilarious and heartbreaking FOUND notes and letters; Peter performs dazzling songs based on finds sent in by readers. The L.A. Times calls Davy and Peter Rothbart "utterly engaging performers," and the Boston Globe calls the show "a powerful fix for thinking voyeurs." Calling all nations with Davy and Peter: the death-defying 19-year-old sword-swallowing prodigy Brett Loudermilk, and legendary Los Angeles underground D.J. Andrew Cohn. U.K., Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, and Ukraine -- we can't wait to see you! Please let your friends know we're headed their way, and bring your finds to share! Brett, you know the age of consent in most of Europe is 16. The old law (still in effect) is if your head reaches above the bar, you can get served. Be prepared for the drunken Brett tour.

Will elaborate here,,, they are mainly classed as underground or alternative,,I enjoy these cos they are a challenge,,,,sideshow will do well here provideing its tongue in cheek.
The Arno in Bristol is completly opposite cater for the graduate types,,,theatre venue,,,more up market and normal !!! Many of them are Pub Venues (Yep I like these as well) My fav is the Hen & Chicken (Islington) Give em a bell,,,they would go for this. But as with all Pub venues,,hit em hard, take no prisoners and they will respond big time. In the US there are few to compare,,, the Comedy Store,,,here (When in Dean Street) Served no food,,,,only booze,,,the equiv in the US would have patrons far more responsive,,,OTT in fact,,,here your gonna have to work hard but if you beat em then you will get the resonse big time. For ideas on crowd / rabble / drunk control ,,,,see Sadovitch or Chubby Brown cos its their kind of patch. NB,,,, not all your booked venues fall into the above catagory,,,,some will be pups,,,,,that`s for you to find out ,,,hahahs,,,, No worries your gonna have a blast. Best of luck (Will try and get to a couple cos there pretty near to me). Ken |

Haa, yeah, I know, I'll be able to hang with the grown-ups. But I am as boring as one can possibly be.
Completely sober and drug free. Afraid of roller costers Terrified of pain (weird right?) I tend to only eat food of a beige color I stay in my house etc, etc...

Brett, sorry I missed this thread, and sorry I can't help you set up any gigs.
But if the whole thing is not yet nailed down shut, you should start the German tour in Berlin and END it in Hamburg: the Hamburger Dom begins its winter season on 7 November. It's a sight to see. Truly. It's like Germany's Coney Island or something. Coney Island. *sigh* |

Wow! I thought my other kids made good!!!
Brett: Remember THAT Engilsh class? Now you'll find out how little it really mattered 'cause whatever the hell it is they speak over there in the UK, it AIN'T English! Have much fun and learn to hide behind large males and duck under big women. In Sweden you're going to find out where all the GORGEOUS genes now in America came from.

Congrats, Brett.
Eating food of a primarily beige color will suit you well at least until you hit mainland Europe. I hope that this tour is more to your liking than your first time out of the gate. Chris |

Handa, this tour will be much different!
I've been on month long tours with these guys in the states and they have been wonderful, Europe I assume will be even better.

Right.
Because in the UK ALL the food is beige. (Unless it's Indian.) |

UK? Food? Isn't that a contradiction of terms?
Gottingen has great beer. Go there!

Many curry dishes are beige, too.
Newcastle is brown, but it is close to beige. I happen to like both very much. Chris |
