Well, I'm starting small: a kiosk in a quiet shopping centre in the west end. It's called ILLUSIONS, and we just opened today. Right now I've got about 100 different kinds of items, mostly beginner stuff but some intermediate and professional accessories and props as well, and if things go well then I'll be building up the inventory and moving into a bona fide space in the near future.

Anyone who'd like to drop by, we're in the Cote st luc shopping centre, 7155 Cote st luc rd (about six blocks west of Cavendish blvd). We're open m-f 10-6 pm, sunday from 10-5. But call first to make sure I'm there! 514-951-8633.

See y'all at the magic shop!

Congrats Todd! I'd make my way over if I could. But sadly I'm only going to Montreal for CAM next year.

Good Luck, and please feel free to give us a call if you need any 'advice'/opinions. I know that we talked to a few shops when we were starting out, some advice was good, some not so good, I would be more than willing to share some of our success stories as well as some of our 'what not to do's'.

A brick and mortar (no matter what the size) is a tough go in the magic business, but I have found that m any/most Canadian magicians would rather spend their money in Canada than send it to elsewhere.

All the best and congratulations on your new business

Jonathan, call me first (on my cell) to make sure I'm there before you drop in.
CE123, it'll probably be a few months before we get around to a web site. I'll keep you posted.
Phil, thanks for your willingness to share your magic store experience.

And to all of you, many thanks for the encouragmenet and good wishes!

Whoops! I see now that CE123 is simply a fellow member.

Sorry about that CE123.

You have to admit, CE123 would also make a great (and easy to remember) cell phone number. Smile

Todd... perhaps yo could contact CE123 and purchase the rights.

Loyal R, we're closing in that location at end of December, so drop by before that if you can.

Don't know yet where/when I'll re-open, but I'll post here when I have a new incarnation for the shop.
