...or so it appeared.
I have been interested in pseudo telekinesis for quite some time, and have studied the methods behind all of these effects. A friend I know showed me something today that went against all that I know. No string, m******, b*****g... Nothing! Just him, the pencil, and his hand. That's it. Fooled everyone in the room (including magicians like myself). The pencil literally gets pulled toward his hand like a magnet. We had one guy put a hand over his mouth and nose! After he showed me how to do it, I was literally showing it to everyone I met all day! Anyway, the reason I am posting here is to see if there is any interest out there for an effect like this. If not, I would be happy to keep the thing for myself! |

Me too!
If you could please tell us more about the type of pencil used. Thanks. I do a similar effect. The pencil is not only made to move/ pulled towards the hand but can also be made to rotate in either direction. And No string, m******, b*****g... Nothing! Meanwhile - Happy thinking! Hint: Edited - to put you on the thinking path. The lucky ones who saw the 'Hint' before I edited the post, should know how. Â

*UPDATE*
I spoke with Sean Rinna (the creator), and he has decided to publish it. I will shoot the project for him, and put it out there as soon as I can for you guys. He's calling it "Unrest", and hopefully we can get it out there in stores. It won't be expensive at all. Any more questions are welcome. |

Does this look like the thing James Hydrick did?
The one Randi actually debunked, but wrongly. Not that it wasn't a fraud, but Randi just had the method wrong. He thought it was blowing, but it was the wind current created by the guy moving his hands, or in the case of the book, by walking towards it. Alternatively, the pencil could have been static electricity, but it was most certainly not blowing. Any who, I would imagine what I just wrote would not constitute "exposure" so much s debunking. Sorry for the tangent there, main question was, does it LOOK like that as far as EFFECT?

Incase the method is different, I too eagerly look forward to the release of Sean Rinna's (the creator's) effect. Till then . . . Enjoy! Best,

This sounds a lot like a trick that came out, oh, at least 5 years ago. A couple page manuscript that showed how to make a pen move without any gimmicks, well, at least not a gimmick like you would think of a gimmick.
I can't believe I forgot the name. I remember how much negativity it received but I always loved it, and still use the method today. Does anyone remember what it was called?

For some reason Tarbell 5 is jumping into my head. I believe it was done with a pen. The marketed effect was a ripoff of it.

Hi friends,
I have been getting a number of PM's requesting a link for the Synthetic Pencil. The pencil is made out of synthetic wood. For the type of pencil I use, please go to the Secret sessions » » Howie Diddits. Back on Topic Please. Thanks.
