Hello,
I would appreciate some advice regarding these books. If you could chose just one, which one would you choose? I might be comparing apples and oranges, but I should tell you that I do like card magic with the whole deck (no packet tricks), I do med deck tricks, I like mental card tricks, thought of cards and similar. Which of these books is the best source? I liked also e.g. Dear Mr Fantasy which is a great book in my eyes, but liked also much AoA. I don't do much False Counts, Card Transpos, Tricks with big setups etc.. Also Derek Dingle and Bro John Hamman are maybe great books but not many of the tricks appeal to me.. I hope someone is able to figure out my preferences and is aware of the mentionted books (Dominatricks, Sessions of Joshua Jay, 52 Memories and Power Plays also and could give an advice!!! thanks ! |

I don't have Session but do have the other 3, and I like them all a lot. For my money, I don't think Power Plays can be beaten. It's got some fabulous material that sounds like it would be right up your alley. Some unusual plots and some plots that sould like they fit exactly what you are looking for. Dominatricks would be second. It's a much smaller book with less material but it is mostly "A" material with some very unusual plots. 52 Memories is a great book but I don't think it fits what you are looking for as well as the other two.

52 Memories is a beautiful produced, written, and illustrated book.
It's mostly about card magic. The book is a tribute to the late Jack Parker. It's a book made out of love and respect. Highly recomended.

I appreciate much your help guys !! thank you. I asked also, because I could not anywhere find tables of contents for 52 memories and sessions by joshua jay. could you describe your favourite effects? Do all of them use MemDeck Tricks here and there?
thank you again and have fun! David |

As for Dominatricks, I liked how Tyler describes everything with that wacky sense of humor of his. But to be honest you get more bang for the buck with sessions.

Session and its companion book would be my choice. Laser aces surely one of the must stunning effect (for layman as for magicians) of the book.
