Hey everyone,
I recently began teaching a few young men (high school freshman) how to perform magic. Most of my teachings come out of "Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic", "Now You See It, Now You Don't", and the Tarbell Series. I charge a supply fee that covers the cost of: Mark Wilson's "Complete Course in Magic" Book A close-up mat A beginner's set of Cups & Balls Ropes for Professor's Nightmare Sponge Balls A small silk and Thumb Tip Hot Rod A generic wand and A small case to carry all their supplies in... And then ask for a small fee per lesson to help with my gas and time... I've broken up the teachings into fourteen separate lessons plus two lessons that are strictly review to go over anything they want to work on. For the last gathering, I thought it would be cool to have the students perform in front of their friends and family at a pizza parlor or and have a graduation ceremony of sorts. A few local magi have offered to perform at this function as well... I thought it would be really cool to present each of them with a Certificate of Completion and a nice quality wand... Maybe something from Tabman or similar. Is there such a thing as a Wand Ceremony to credit these young apprentices as now being magicians? I've looked at SAM and IBM and was only able to find Wand Breaking Ceremonies... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -Bryan |

It really depends on how you want it to be. You are the one leading the show and you can make it special and memorable to the students.

Present them with one of these:
