I came across a great clip of Jimmy Grippo performing his famous card to pocket on the Micke Douglas show for Orson Welles. If you never saw Jimmy perform, you are certain to ENJOY THIS! It might just provide a clue as to the subject of our next interview.

That was actually the Merv Griffin Show. I saw this when it aired at that time. I had only been studying magic with cards for a short time, so, needless to say, I was blown away. At the beginning of the clip, he was a little upset that he didn't have more time. He was supposed to have more, but Merv spent too much time talking to Orson Welles.
A great clip. |

Man Dodd, that card to pocket routine rivals anything Blaine and Angel do on TV today.

Hmm, well Merv, Jimmy, and Orson are all gone. I wonder who it could be?

You could probably get an interview with Jimmy's hairpiece. I think it's still working in Vegas.

I was working for Caesars Palace on a photo shoot. One time, having a meal in one of their restaurants, I noticed Grippo at another table, along. I went over to say hello and he said, "let me do a few tricks for you."
I couln't believe it... he did over half an hour of his A Material... blew me away.

I have had some very funny guesses as to whom I could have been alluding to when I mentioned the Grippo clip. I was being purposefully vague, but in the the interview will be posted shortly I'll offer another clue. Dod a Google search for the term :: Chicago Magician Jimmy Grippo

Took longer to pull together than expected because the sound quality from his end was not as good as it seemed when we were speaking. It was a great interview and I didn't want to try and recreate it with another call so I simply had to spend some time filtering and playing with the compression to insure it sounded as good as possible.

Obviously, the subject of our interview is Eugene Burger. He talks about Grippo at approximately 27 minutes into the interview. Enjoy!
