Just a couple pics, nothing special. I just want to say that it was a pleasure hanging out with David Blaine over these past few days. He was always kind and friendly to everyone and would answer all questions and sign anything you gave him.
I got to make him laugh and I showed him my jumbo fan, which seemed to impress him. So here's the last three pictures of my days with David Blaine. David at the 50th hour mark: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cf......12215584 Me making him laugh: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cf......12215590 David: Are you a magician? Me: Yes I am. David: Wanna show me something? Me: Sure, do you happen to have a deck of cards on you? David: Yes. Here are these okay? Me: I guess they'll do, check out my jumbo fan. David: Nice! http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cf......12215590 |

Shame on you...you've got to click the banners now and then to support the Café. But then again, not all of us dream about shrunken heads all day long, every day, like I do.
So why didn't you give David the camera so that he could take a picture of your giant fan? I wanna see it. |

OMG!!!
I should have asked him to take a picture of me!!! Aghhh, I can't believe it! Why didn't I think of that??? Oh my God, that would have been the shot! Aghhh, totally exasperated... (Giant card fan. Saying "giant fan" is short lingo used amongst magicians. It means "wanna see my giant card fan?") One for you... One for me... |

Thanks for the beer. Really, it's TOO BAD about not giving David the camera. I guess it's too late to go back. When is the stunt supposed to end. Sheese...it's almost 2:00am here. I don't need another beer, I need to go to bed.
Hey, what kind of cards did he give you to use? Those custom Blaine things or just a deck of bikes or tallies. We want to KNOW! |

Watching it right now.
Hanging upside down like that so long made him look like George Bush. This sucks.

That's nice to hear he was nice. Wouldn't have guessed it from what I've seen.

Basically what people are guessing is that he was supposed to vanish before hitting the ground. Either the lights were supposed to shut for a second, and when the turned on he would be gone. Or he was just supposed to go up really fast, and no one was supposed to notice (?). Over all it was a tech glitch.

Maybe some pyrotechnics didn't go off? A blinding flash and a poof of smoke?

I too was scratching my head and wondering out loud why I had stayed up past my bed time to watch this... I thought, "man, that was pretty lame..."
Glad I'm not alone on this one. It may very well have been a technical glitch, but if it wasn't, perhaps a better title than "Dive Of Death" would have been "Jump Of The Shark." Lyndel |

I'm curious to see what, if any reaction the media has today. He is always pretty well hyped on Good Morning America and I think he's close friends with one of the anchors.

To be honest, I was asleep by 9:00. I really had no interest in the stunt, the show or outcome, I was just there because he happened to be in my park when I ride. It was just a convenience for me (although, I lost about 60 miles of riding because I was hanging out)
My only concern was that they didn't show me being interviewed by ABC. They asked me a few questions on camera (I thought it was going to be on GMA) and they said it was going to be for the special. And since I didn't see it, I don't know if they showed it/me? Stoney: The cards were Blue Bicycles. They were almost brand new but a little out of shape. I just gave them two quick shuffles and a faro, then the jumbo. Even thou my hands were cold, I still managed a pretty good fan, if I do say so myself, don't you think? He told me to keep them but as I was leaving I asked a woman if she would like David Blaine's personal cards, she was excited as I gave them to her. Next on my list is to video the ride around the park. it will be about 20 - 25 minutes. And as soon as the weather is nice one day next week, I will do it. This way, you'll be able to take a virtual ride with me! Yeah! |

The finale was uh ... I'm not sure.
But I thought the magic through out the show was good. Lots of card tricks, with no camera funny business. I enjoyed it. |

Unlike past shows, I really enjoyed the close up magic. The finale... confusing and will be made fun of by the media for a long time I think.
