This was mentioned on a very small thread with regard to Marc's AAA mindreading presentation some time ago, and Marc gives full credit to Roy Johnson for giving him the idea for this effect.
I purchased True Lies, put it aside, contacted Marc to enquire about my password (which I'd lost)to get in to see it again, printed it off this time before putting it aside once again. So about half a year passes and I pick it up and read through it. Somehow I enjoy the read more and decide to test drive it..... I had 3 gigs last week (more than I average in a week to be honest) and presented True Lies in all three. I have to say how dissappointed I can get with myself every so often with regard to totally missing a jewel of an effect. True Lies absolutely rocks. I've done lie detecter tests many times in the past but the response with Marc's detailed presentation is fantastic. I DID remember through the audience's applause for ME to whisper to myself a little 'thankyou Marc Paul'. Great thinking. This is one I can thoroughly recommend to all 'workers'. bobser

I had been performing Charles Gauci's "Body Language" for a few years with good reactions. When I read Marc's True Lies routine I immediately added the Truth and Lies cards while retaining the basic Gauci method. The routine(for stage)now plays much stronger.
Using the cards to assign each helper a secret "character" made all the difference and added an extra dimension to my basic routine. I have not used the cards on their own in a more intimate show or impromtu show but intend to do so. |

This was a gem, probably one of my best buys this year. Sometimes something comes along that is so easy but sooo clever. Luv performing this and vertually impromptu

Marc performed this for us at Tabula Mentis III with great aplomb! He had many gueesing in their seats and his presentation was spot on. You can literally do this anytime, anywhere, anyhow...so if you are caught off the hoof and in need of a good powerful quickie that shows off you mental prowess, this is a great routine. I love its deceptive simplicity and versatility.

What I admire most about this routine is its deviant simplicity. With one small (invisibly gathered) piece of information, the mentalist knows more than is seemingly possible about any number of participants.

In as few words as possible, this routine is absolutely phenomenal.
I used it at a wedding last week as part of an impromptu cabaret spot after being booked just for table hopping and I got a standing ovation. I just don't want anyone else to do it! Franklin |

100% agree Franklin.
To be honest, I was trying to keep this little beauty quiet but it seems that the word is out already I saw Marc perform this at a lecture in Nottingham where he explained the methodology. It absolutely rocked! Although it hurts me to say this, if you haven't got it, just buy it! You won't be disappointed. |

I do however have a wee question. But because of the nature of it I'm going to pop over to INNER THOUGHTS (I see everyone in here has over 50 posts)and ask it there under the same title (True Lies by Marc Paul). I'd be very interested to read all your thoughts and opinions on it, thanks.

A friend of mine saw this at Tabula Mentis and also got a copy whilst there. It is a great effect and I would say that you should buy yourself a copy.

I've just read this and it is really fantastic. This will most likely be my go to impromptu piece for more than 3-4 participants and I can't wait to try it out. This is possibly my favourite purchase this year.
If any of the regulars here have missed it, I urge you to check it out. It's very simple, very clean and very hard to backtrack. It's not very often I find nuggets like this, very rare actually and I'm thrilled to have it in my repertoire now. I just wanted to share my find |
