Steve,
The prep only takes a few seconds but you'll have to secure a certain something which you'll most likely have to order. As for reset, you can have multiples prepared. Mario |

My only question with an effect like this, is that ultimately in the end they are holding a card that is folded to look like a matchbook. Now, it could be "thinking like a magician" but would a spectator not just think 'he must have just given me this instead of the matchbook' ? I mean there might be the initial shock, but then afterwords...
And another thing I thought of.. Sankey has a similar trick where a selected card switches places with a matchbook held in their hands, but it is folded up with a few rows of matches stapled to it with a strike pad. I have done this trick and got decent reactions, so maybe again this is 'magician's guilt', but would that not say that it is DEFINITELY not the card they had 'chosen' ? I mean clearly there is no way it could have been folded and had matches stapled to it. I understand that Lit is a fold, rather than including matches in the card and maybe this is a little more plausible? |

Though slightly different, if you finish your card routine with the Omni deck, and do it correctly, you will never have the spectator say, 'Oh, he must have handed me that at some point instead of the deck'. Same theory involved with Lit as if you perform correctly, the spectator won't even remember them leaving their sight with matches in, til when the card is in there. |

Because they had the matchbook in their hands, saw you light the match and then they held onto it tightly throughout the rest of the routine, they have never been able to backtrack it in my experience. |

This review is long overdue, but better late than never.
Tim sent me Lit to try out over here in Asia; where blank matchbooks do not exist. In this part of the world, matchboxes or regular lighters are the norm. Due to this, I wasn't certain if introducing a matchbook would seem out of place or suspect; but thankfully, from my many times of roadtesting this baby, I am happy to say that it isn't. The only concern for Asian magicians is sourcing the said matchbooks. Matchbooks are VERY hard to come by in Brunei (where I'm at) and in Singapore as well, though I haven't thoroughly searched there. To save me the trouble, I just ordered them online and even THAT was not a simple procedure. Many sites don't ship flammable materials outside the US due to some shipping policy. Those that DO ship overseas have a minimum order of 1000 or something ludicrous like that. Thankfully, some kind soul posted a link to a site which offers to ship overseas and in batches of 50. Thank goodness. That site is: http://www.thecraftersloft.com God Bless Them So, after receiving my batch of matches I could finally road test Lit. Allow me to say that this piece played SO MUCH STRONGER than I had anticipated. I had honestly thought that after the effect was over, someone, somewhere would state the obvious; that I had switched the matchbook for a card that LOOKED like a matchbook. But in my time of performing this, that comment hasn't ever been said. Ever. As a magician, sometimes we think we know what's powerful and what's not and how a spectator would react to it. But in reality, the spectator is the one that makes that decision; not us. This is the reason why many STILL perform Professor's Nightmare and Sponge Balls, because while they are performed to DEATH, no one can argue with their effectiveness. This is what makes routines classic. The same can be said with Lit. As previously mentioned by others, the concept of using a matchbook as a revelation for a card is not new; it's been done by the likes of Sankey, Sanders and I believe Osterlind as well. The gimmicks and the routine supplied with Lit are excellent and sets itself apart from what has been done before, I reckon. Amazed at how effective Lit was, I decided to make a video to display exactly that; hopefully, it will speak of the effectiveness of this routine MORE than my words are capable of. Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGJxdYqdwKw To those of you who still have not gotten their hands on this routine; please don't wait ANY longer, this routine is WORTH IT. Use it as a closer. This hits so hard, it's hard to follow it up with anything else, even Sponge Balls! Stay safe all, Logan P.S. Thanks again Tim! Much obliged!

Maybe its just me but the mentioning of scoring the card seems like a full explanation of the signed card to me..... the scoring allows for a precise "mercury fold" of the signed card, then apply the regular routine.

Does anyone have a idea where I can get the same matches as used in the DVD in Germany?
It´s nearly impossible! The only people who sell them are Shops where you have to buy at least 1000packs. |

Hi guys n gals,
I have just read all 8 pages of this topic and there are no links live as to where you can buy white matchbooks in the UK for use with lit. I have just ordered the trick and need to get some matchbooks otherwise I can't perform it (unless I make my own but I'd prefer not to) Does anyone know if these... http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/white-matc......352.html are the same as... http://www.magictricks.co.uk/products/97......for-LIT/ As the latter from Magictricks have 2 bad reviews about them being different size and not the right matches etc. Has anyone used the matchbooks from mjmmagic, if so where they the same size etc. Thanks again, AA

I love doing the biddle move to lose the card. Just so darn clean and nice looking! Im still trying to figure out how to make it a bit more flashy when I show that their card has vanished instead of a measley snap of the fingers.

Someone posted about referring to Daniel Madison's "Burned" and they were right! So many ideas in here for LIT. Excellent suggestion I must say.
