You are doing great Purist. I see you are more into magic than I thought when you first entered.

I'm semi pro now, not a full time job but that's how I like it.
My working routines are all close up, tables and strolling. but I like to try my hand at all kinds of magic, so I've learned childrens, mentalism, hypnotism, ballooning as you never know when it will come in handy and increased my knowledge further. Balloons especially have increased my performing as I did a birthday party as a favour for a mate now I keep getting repeat bookings from that! Can't complain though. But wanted to learn cups and balls as it's legendary,

This exercise is actually a very basic version of an exercise I advocate. If you find that mine doesn't work for you, go back to Dave's.
I'll explain it. When you are trying to learn any sleight or move, first figure out what the move is supposed to be doing; for example, "this is supposed to look like I'm placing the ball into my hand from this position." So you practice "putting the ball into your hand from this position," making yourself aware of how your hands and body actually move. Once you know that, and can feel it in your muscles, then make the sleight look the same. If you have trouble grasping this concept, then by all means use Dave's idea, because it will give you a non-sleight-related way of visualizing the process.

If you can find it, look for Michael Ammar's essay "The Natural Lay of the Hand."

IE: When practicing my classic palm, I always dump it into my hands for real just to always remind myself what the real thing should look like. I taught a magic class over the summer to young kids, and I used this technique; it seemed to work very well. When I taught them the French Drop, before even introducing them to the secret "move", I made them repeatedly take the coin from their fingers over and over.

My idea is a step beyond that. Not better, just step two once you know how the "move" should look. You need to try to not make it look like you're doing a "move." Read my tag line. FORGET that it's a move and just do it. You don't care that the coin, ball, whatever is going into the other hand. IT DOESN'T MATTER. You're already thinking about what comes next. If you think that, so will they and they will follow your attention to the next thing and ignore what you don't want them to see.
Here's a pic taken a couple of years ago. My wife caught this shot at the exact moment of the transfer. Note where I'm looking. Not at the ball. Not at my hands. I'm looking at what I'm going to do next which is to pick up the wand. It's natural for me to move the ball to the left hand as I had to empty my right hand to take the wand as that's what side of the table it was on. As insignificant as all this looks, EVERYTHING MATTERS. Wand placement, body english, everything. If the wand was on the left side of the table, it would be unnatural for me to transfer the ball and reach across my body. It wouldn't have been necessary. A mere glance in that direction is all the misdirection you need to take the attention off the transfer.

Good picture that, I like the table and the little statue!
I start a week of nights tonight, 8pm till 7am on my own all night with all prisoners locked away (work in a prison) so I'm taking my cups, balls, dvds, cards etc and I'm going to practise for a few hours per night, should improve a little bit at least!

Beats me. I just posted it as an example of "looking ahead"
I know, otherwise my technique sucks.

Dave's picture reminds me of a funny story.
Jerry Newton, a top trade show/hospitality performer was hired to entertain at a party by the same corporation that hired me to PHOTOGRAPH the party. EVERY picure I took of Jerry was (on purpose) at the WRONG MOMENT... loading the chop cup, hooking the ring for ring flight, etc. etc. We still laugh about it. OK, I did shoot the party activities properly, as hired to do.

Would you like to critique my form for the benefit of the others? I don't mind. Let's take it to Secret Sessions.
