Might I propose an entirely new sub-forum?

You could call it something like, "Word Games", but the name isn't important.

The point is that there are quite a lot of us who like to play games like "three words" and "the alphabet game", and we would like to continue doing it. We've been doing it in the "Now that's Funny" forum, and all the threads have been locked--probably because of complaints (which I understand). But the suggestion to move those kinds of threads over to the "Not Very Magical" forum would cause similar complaints. So it would seem that either we discontinue something we enjoy and come to the Café for, or we do it somewhere where people will get annoyed. Couldn't we have our little place to play our games? If post count is an issue, you could make it a place where posts don't count, like the "Not Very Magical" forum.

It would be a shame to stop something that gives so many of us here at the Café a lot of pleasure. And it would also be a shame to impose our silly games on the "Not Very Magical" forum...since they talk about everything under the sun over there, rather than play a bunch of games. Keeping things separate would be a tidy solution, I think.

I hope you give my suggestion some serious consideration.

I second you. That would be a good idea. It would be great if we had an area to play our fun games together. Thank you for bringing it up, Jeff.

Can we please have an area like that,... pretty please?

I concur wholeheartedly. Many of us like the challenges that these improv (and other) word games pose. They're nearly all submitted by magicians with an interest in comedy magic so it makes sense to keep this forum within the "Now that's funny" forum, if possible. One of the best ways to exercise our creative muscles is through interaction with others.

I'd add the following to Dynamike's plea (Can we please have an area like that...pretty please?): "with sugar on top?" [Except that I can't really support this b/c too much sugar is bad for us, medically speaking]

Not only was it fun - but most of us tried to keep it as magical as possible. I'll admit we got sidetracked often enough though.

I'd be in favor of any place on the Café that we can continue.

I am glad you mentioned it. I was thinking along the same lines. We have many truly creative minds here. The games are an outlet for the comedy and inventiveness. Members who feel that the games are upsetting the original nature of "Now That's Funny!" will likely feel better about it too.
Here's hoping everything you do hits the BULLSEYE!

Now if only there was this kind of support on the Scrabulous site Smile

Like Mike said, "Pretty Please?" I'd like to even add, "With sugar on top?"

You have no idea how we felt loosing those threads. Smile We would truly appreciate it with all our hear, Smile no joke. My plans are to build up my comedy lines like Ron Bauer. Smile Our previous threads were helping us excercise our career. Smile I am going to leave a donation Smile to The Magic Café because it is seriously important to us. Smile We will even be willing to add a Hershey Kiss on top of the sugar. Smile

For now on just call me "Mike".

FYI...I was unaware of the lock prior to my previous message. I fully understand the bandwith restrictions on the site. I do hope that a new category alleviates any future problems...and we can pick on the RJOM in the very near future.
Here's hoping everything you do hits the BULLSEYE!
