I understand that the Café frowns on - even officially disallows - political discussions.
At the same time, they do seem sometimes to be allowed here in practice. The apparent inconsistency is baffling to me, and probably to some others as well. Is it possible someone could clarify exactly what is and what is not allowed? At what point the line is crossed? Even better, considering that it IS election season and considering that there IS a possibly once in a century financial crisis going on, and considering that these topics are understandably on people's minds these days, would it be out of the question for there to be a forum created in which these topics could be discussed?

balducci, allowing political threads on a magic forum is just a bad idea - thus the policy regarding them.
In regards to the notion we seem to let some political discussions remain while others are deleted: We remove the ones we find or are aware of, others may sometimes slip thru the cracks. If you see something we missed please feel free to use the REPORT THIS POST link which appears in every post made on this website. Thanks for your patience and understanding. ![]()
