Hello guys!
I am having a question where I want to know the differences between these guys books that they give out- I know Marlo only does cards and Vernon does all-sort of close-up but how different are they in their works?

Please don't misunderstand that Marlo only did card tricks.....it is a common misunderstanding on Marlo....

Jonathan,
I think Ed was mostly known for his cards but he did many things. If you have a chance over the years to collect both authors, I would. They have different approaches to things. Vernon had the general book on magic, but his series of inner secrets are all card books. I would think as time goes on it will be more and more difficult to find books from either author. If there is anything in particular you want to know about the books, let me know. I have all the Vernon Card Books and I have 95% of what Ed has in print. Jim Molinari

I think that the main difference in their magic was their approach when creating their magical effects. Both were excellent creators and performers.
It is hard for me to say "That is Marlo's" after I see a magician performing one of his tricks. But when I see some magic created by "The professor", It is very easy to understand what is the meaning of the expression: "It has the Vernon Touch." Mago Mai

As a general rule most of what Ed Marlo produces is not suitable for beginners. Dai Vernon produces a higher proportion of material (just about) suitable for moderately experienced beginners. They both produce stuff challenging enough for anyone.
There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary numbers, and those who don't.
