Though the small is the easiest to hide and work with do you think it's a little too small? Is medium better, or it just doesn't matter?

Are you doing it as it was meant... closeup/parlour? Charlie Miller used a blown "pullet" egg, which I believe is pretty small.

What matters is how it handles.

I use a malini bag and a small eggs-actly egg.

It never feels too small

Bob White discusses this at length. The basic feeling of the white egg against the black bag is that the size of the egg is somewhat indefinite to the audience, so you can use a very small egg and still have it show up.

Several of the egg bag workers I have discussed this with feel that it's important to use a blown egg, because you will handle it like a real egg.

Yes, it's for parlour. I think I will go with the small. Thanks for the comments.

One thing I like about the eggs-actly egg is that it's light enough to work well in a good malini bag (not a cheapo) but it has enough weight that if a spectator takes it out of the bag they will think it's a real egg.

it IS a real egg, btw.

I use a Hobson bag and the eggs that come with it are about the size of an extra-large egg. They work great with the bag! But, then again, it's meant to work with this size of an egg - some aren't. I suppose I could blow an extra-large egg and get it to work nearly as well.

In an emergency I used an egg for "silk-to-egg" explaining the hole in the side of the egg was made ro "removed the contents to protect your clothing."

I kinda like this an am tempted to use it more often. I was thinking as a follow up to DO the silk-to-egg routine after the egg bag.

Here's an idea, Pete...instead of using a silk, shove the bag into the egg. Peel off the hole, it's a real egg!

I tried, it wouldn't fit. However, you could switch the bag for a single piece of cloth the right size. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm... gotta think about making it up.

Thanks, will check it out. Sounds to logical to be new, had to have been thought of before.
