Looks like he is targeting the Copperfield specials, and Criss Angel.

I just watched it. was a sad display of a no talent hack. he exposed at least 2 tricks during the performance part (before he explained it) the man has no pride or soul. I wish we could do something to stop him but we cant. anything we do or say will just give him more press.
lets just hope he gets canceled quickly |

Well Dekolta chair was obviously something I missed.
Posted: Oct 2, 2008 10:32pm I really hope he doesn't do the same illusions again on Monday, that's two chances for lay people to catch it..pretty sad... |

But he has to prove that he owns the intellectual property. If he had a patent on it, and it has expired, then there are no grounds, except damages. Fox is too smart to leave themselves open for something like this.

Look at it this way - when the last specials aired, there were probably half as many (or fewer) TV channel choices as there are now. I didn't know when it was supposed to be on, and I'm a magician who tries to stay current on the Café. I haven't seen the first mention of it on TV, so I doubt if a lot of folks even know about it.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

It was Mr. Osborne who drew up the orginal plans for the death saw and sent them to David. I was given a copy and I gave those plans to a magic friend in Springfield, MA. At the time I suggested a playright rather than a patent, which is how Houdini protected the Water Torture Cell. I do not know if that was done or not. However, I suspect this time we have them, if Mr. Copperfield decides to go after them. |

Again. let's not draw any attention to this situation. The producers of the show are counting on us getting our panties in a bunch.
I know it's hard to just ignore and do nothing but, we are guarding an empty safe. The true magic comes from the performer .. not the props. Don't get me wrong, exposure gets me sick .. but without unlimited funds, its difficult to do anything about this. Of course there are other performers with deep pockets that could squash this .. but, they too are ignoring the situation. Do not draw any attention to the show .. lay people really don't care. The too will soon forget. I can barely tell you what was on the earlier specials .. it was all a bunch of nonsense. Steve |
