Yes, highly recommended. But please trust me. The ring can come off. In fact, already for me, the entire clasp has come off. The clasp is very low tension which is a positive when it comes to ease of putting the ring on. A negative when it comes to the security of the ring.

That is why I don't use a ring and instead borrow their car key. More logical as well.
The effect is their car key switches places with my car key in a baffling matter. (their POV)

One key yes it is a good idea. In fact you can still vanish it with several different sleights.
But several keys ? It will be too bulky and noisy. Also the weight might be a problem. |

In that routine I made the point that the trick repeats itself. You present the thing by talking about Uri Geller and how he used to bend keys with his "mind" (say that AFTER you borrown the key). Then when the key vanishes and you return it ask them to make sure it's not bent, because you don't want to accidentally lock them out of their house. When the get home, the trick repeats, when they open the door. And when they come home they'll often think or it. And unlike a ring, there's no chance of losing the stone and getting fired. |

The only propblem is when the line brakes. How do you fix it? The housing is glued together and there is no srew to open. For 50 bucks there should be a solution to that problem.

The breaking of such p***s is a massive problem. I owned Rinky Dinky for quite a while. The thread on it snapped and I screw drivered open the casing. inside was a long thin line of steel. It was coiled up but came out and un coiled. I tried to re-coil the steel and get it back into the casing. During which it sprung back open in my fingers and sliced through the top of my first finger. I was at work (in a supermarket) at the time and there way blood everywhere. It hurt like hell and I ndeed 3 stitched in my finger. So I had 3 stiches and broke my rinky dinky... worth it? nope. I would recomend not trying to fix it. It's not worth the hastle. This being said, Ive ordered depature and will give it a go.

I've had two and they both came undone and became useless to me. At the same time, the second was a replacement sent by MagicSmith because of the problems with the first one, which was cool. I've been looking for a way to get inside the mechanism for a few weeks now. Anyone tried Goo Gone?

Finally used this at a halloween party this weekend- everytime I did it- the specs were blown away! This works very well and is pretty quiet. Though the cable is a little short- you can make it work. Heck- for $25.00 you can't beat this and is very well made. Gets GREAT reactions- actually after showing my hands completely empty before reaching for my keys, I got, "If my ring is on there, there is no way- Ahhhh! It is!" type of reaction.

So why pay so much more for the same effect/reaction? Yes- the spec can remove the ring in the expensive version, but with a little audience management- they can remove it on departure. The only way I could see spending so much more for the same effect is the durability of the product and maybe the looks. I am assuming (because I don't have this) that this ring flight will probably last longer than departure and does look better than departure. But, after the spec see's their ring in the clasp- the looks of the fob makes no difference because they are so stunned of what just happened. If I came into some money all of a sudden- I would invest in the expensive one. But at this point, money could be better spent on other effects for the stand up shows! So far now- departure is the way to go for me! RNK

I had a minor problem with mine that I was unable to fix(I am not mechanically inclined at all),I sent it back & it was repaired & sent back no charge. I have not heard anything good about the durability of Departure, friends of mine who had Departure were not happy with it at all. On the other hand, everyone I know who has the Revolution have been nothing but happy with it. To each his own of course Mike |

Original Departure ring flights were not too durable. The latest version is half the price of the original, has much stronger thread in it )though still a little too short at 17", IMO), and comes with a one year warranty from Magic Smith.
Personally I would love a Ring Flight Revolution but I can't pay that much for any ring flight. I don’t perform professionally so it simply won't pay off no matter how durable it is. Departure works just fine for me and most likely for most hobbyists too, especially at that price! Also, I use Pro-Flite more so than Departure - I love the simplicity of it. :) Thanks! Jim |

I have never had an issue but instead of hanging the fob from a pocket it is in my front pants pocket this slows down the momentum and prevents any ring or line damage.
