Is it just me or does everyone picture Doug's scooter with chrome wheels, flames and shrunky head hanging from the handle bars?

Thanks Kotah and all...BUT...Let's clear up the 'no cost' aspect. It is BS. Forget the bogus commercials unless you buy the fake Male Enhancement ads and the Brooklyn Bridge for sale.
BTW: Hoveround is a Wheel Chair. Not an invalid. Put Scooter Store and SCAM or FRAUD in google. The FEDS are after them big time for various things...all that Medicare nonsense and Govt. handout is bogus. Old farts are getting hosed by these companies that advetise this way with huge upsells which are passed on to a stupid Govt. system that in turn bills YOU or they wind up paying for them themselves at massive price increases. The old Adjustable Bed scam reborn. Handouts are NOT ME. Thanks for the advise though. I BUY what I have because I earned it. I am as far from an Entitlement mentality as one can get. I don't jump through Govt regulations and hoops and fill out paper work to get a freebie or a better deal. If I'm the last person to make claims on this Govt. then so be it...just not interested or raised that way. I've seen ALL the commercials, I've researched EVERY mobility company on the planet (MOST ALL of them are made in China by the way). I'm not an old fool who just barges in and buys crap...I know everything about a (major) purchase top to bottom and I never buy USED. I know the best prices and the best equipt and the best (and worst) companies per reputation and the way they do business. And no I don't buy from Craigs List...god forbid. I can now write a book about these mobility things. haha. So thanks for the ideas but I'm ahead of that game already. Yes I'll have Chrome Wheels, Flames and Fuzzy DICE (not Shrunky Head) and whatever it takes to carry on in comfort. Appreciate you ALL though and your soft hearts!!! Lord knows one of us needs one. Back to work. You wouldn't believe the output of 'things' this week. Those waiting for Higley's, watch your mail!

Doug,
Knowing how much you care for reducing your carbon footprint, might I suggest you consider the new alternative energy scooters which are powered by harnessing the energy in old fart's farts. Destiny |

You are speaking to whom? Certainy not me of the hyper active sense of smell...but maybe you are right...the recoil alone might work.
I am also shopping for something LARGE that will INCREASE my carbon footprint to massive proportions...if I could that is...I would..

Hey we need the carbon dioxide for trees! I think all these global warming people are secretly tree killers.
"Recoil", Doug I about spit out my drink at that one. Ok, I did. Thank you.

Concerning health problems: My heart transplant and LVAD removal cost seven hundred and eighty thousand dollars, after insurance I still owed twenty persent of the cost. Over the nine years since ( this oct.) My meds have cost twelvehundred dollars per month. Periodic check ups cost additional hundreds.
I , like Doug have paid my own way. When your health begins to slide, the ride is never easy. I can sympathize; but secretly wish thirtwwn hundred bucks would make things easier. By suggesting the hover round in my ignorance, I did not mean to imply that any one was an invalid. A Stroke during my surgery robbed me of my ability to return to the assembly lines. Ironically, the factory is shutting down on the 15th of Oct. With it goes my health insurance. Guess things ategoing to get much tougher. Kotah |

KOTAH...my dearest friend...I never took it anyway but helpful and caring.
Maybe my use of 'invalid' was improper but that's how it was described to me as to the difference between the scooters and the 'chairs'. You have enough problems for ten of us and your power of spirit and character are going the distance far more than any medical. Fight on and I hope to the gods you find an alternate to your insurance!!!! Now that's a bummer!!! I don't have any either and because of screw ups I cant get any coverage till next July. I just tell all my afflictions to Pizz off! (not that that works...)

"Immorality?"
Oh, my mistake...there was a T in it. Everyone should have some T occasionally. I think I shall go seek a cup now.

Thanks Ron. Note that there are scams afoot does not mean you can't get a proper arrangement with your Medicare or Insurance company...just be aware that there are companies that are predators hiding in the swamp. Simple formula for an alarm bell...Those that advertise the most, have the most overhead to overcome and their offers are usually of the 'too good to be true' variety and contain the more vicious sales pitch's and pressure.
For future looks at this topic here is the company I chose for various reasons after much research and above all was Excellent phone help WITHOUT a Sales Pitch of any kind, just good solid informaion. Wide range of product and a lot of nice extras they throw in the deal yet retain the lowest prices. http://www.easymobilityco.com/

That looks like a great place Doug. I want a Segway because I am a geek, but at nearly triple the price of these beauts, I don't know why. Maybe because they make me stand and look like a geek instead of sitting down. Who knows.

Oddly enough while Disneyland demos the Segway in the Innoventions attraction...they do not let them 'in' for guests to use like they do scooters.
