Not half bad article, wonder if the Red Jacket of Mystery ever read it. Kyle always writes great things, lots of experience.
Another tremendous work on practice for magicians, one I wish I had 40 years ago, and took me over 40 years to learn what is in it, is a book by Gerald Edmundson called "The Ostrich Factor". I can't recommend that book enough. Everyone I've ever recommended it to found it tremendous. Can save you a lot of frustration and wasted time in practice.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Kyle. I especially like the idea of "cold practice". What a practical way to determine if you are ready to take your new routine to the masses!

You are most welcome Sam. Cold practice is what I do to really make sure that I have a routine down enough to be ready toperform it for lay people. If it is a card routine, I keep the cards on a table in my living room. I then go over and pick them up and perform the rotuine straight through only once. If I mess up, I do NOT do it again but just make note of it. This simulates the idea of a real performance situation.

The Inner Game books are also excellent....Inner Game of Tennis for instance. Concepts move over to magic quite nicely. Best,

Kyle, great article. I happen to have just recently ordered The Ostrich Factor from Mr Edmundson and am eagerly awaiting its arrival, I've heard nothing but good about it.
