Check out Mike Close's Web Site. He used to sell them. They are blank and you will have to fill in the cards, depending on what system you are using.

The one I use is here...it's VERY well made, and extremely elegant..
http://www.aspinaloflondon.com/eshop-cat......lack-ebl I hired a calligrapher who does wedding invitations to write in the card names. Was costly, but worth it. Hope it helps, Christopher |

Nice looking book. Also, that's a great idea to have a calligrapher write them in for you.

I'm not remembering this one at all. What is the definitive version of this effect, and where is it written up? Thanks.
Nick
Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.

Mike Close does a version of Simon Aronson's effect on one of his workers series tapes.

I finally found the time to look up the Aronson execution of the Happy Birthday routine in Simply Simon. And I will see if I have the original Elmsley writeup. Can someone describe (from the audience's point of view) the distinction that Michael Close has -- I don't have that video series (actually I hardly have ANY videos since I prefer books) and am wondering if it is worth getting.
Thanks, Nick

Paul Green's "Fortune Teller's Book of Days", the take off on the Elmsley routine,
gives you horoscope readings on each day and is not year specific. Best $20 - $25 you can spend. FWIW

Here's another one of the best birthday books I've used. It has different fortunes printed on each date, and more than ample space to write in the names of cards. It is also beautifully bound, gold gilded pages, a ribbon marker, red leather, and measures 3 3/4 x 4 3/4. I've used this in close-up situations many times and people ask to see it so they can look up their friends's fortunes. The best $9.95 you can spend on a "real" birthday book. Hope it helps.

You will need to copy the ENTIRE web link above for it to work. It's not all highlighted as a hyper-link, but it does work.

Hi Nick!
I believe the description of the effect (Michael Close)doesn´t really help you, because it is like the common one: The magician introduces abook which he says tells the correct card for any day of the year. The spectator names her birthday. She selects a card at random from the deck. The birthday book is checked, and the card written next to her birthday is noted. The card she selected is turned over. It is the same card. (quoted Close). But if you don´t like videos or dvds, you can look it up in Michael Closes Workers #5, p 156ff (The Birthday Book). (me, I don´t really know the complete Aronson version, so I can´t point out the differences, advantages or disadvantages) Axel |

Axel,
Excellent. Thank you. I actually have the full Workers series. I looked through the table of contents, and it is not listed -- it is part of the "Memorized Standards" section, so that is how I missed it. Thanks again. Nick

The best I've seen is Pat Page's and you can get one by emailing Dean Dill at
intmiracle@deandill.com It's not on Dean's website, but ask via email. It is diabolical and very simple.

I have the Birthday book and I have been using the "ch---d" order for the deck. I don't have the Aronson setup, and the trick does not give that setup. I did pick up Mark Mason's "Validate" which is great, but was curious is the Aronson setup is the same.
Thanks Chris |
