Koz,
I do a sort of benson bowl routine with my Pork Pie hat and sponge balls. I used to do a fish bowl load with live fish but it got to be too much hassle. Now I do a coconut load. However, in the street on a windy day, the sponge balls have a mind of their own. I was thinking square sponge balls might do the trick. Of course, nobody carries square sponge balls. Brad Burt out in San Diego is going to talk to Goshman and see if he can get some made. I think that might solve the problem. Although, they may be aesthetically awkward. What do you think? Patrick |

I have been thinking that putting small weights into the ball will keep it from blowing all over...what do you think...its a tomorrow project...i will let you know how it turns out...it would not be good for anything in the spectators hands I'm sure but might be cool for the streets.....i have an idea that I think will kick pretty good if I can make it happen...

Harry,
I'm not a purist. To me, working for a hat in one place or the other amounts to pretty much the same thing. I just want to draw a decent edge and do a complete show instead of bits and pieces for the stragglers that I am shanghaiing. I am still trying to figure out a way to outmaneuver the b#@*7%ds that turned me down for the choice spots (which they control) in the area where I am working. I'll see how this weekend goes. Thanks for your help. Patrick |

If you want square sponge "balls" they would be easier to make than the round ones. Just find the right type of sponge in a store and make square cuts. Much easier than rounding them. I too will be curious to hear how it goes.

Sponge balls on the streets
put a nut in side the sponge ball and glue it back together , it will stay on the table and not blow away |

I did believe you..
I'm just worried about the size of the sponge..has to be a pretty large one that does fit me inside.. The idea still is a good one..
