Some time back last year members wanted a trick that was shown in a Japanese magicians act on UTUBE. I have found that UGM in Japan sells this gimmick and is available in the USA under Kikuchi Thumb Tip Fire. This is what I called it, looks like they liked the name I have given it and used it.
The silk is not used in the fickle fire type presention as on the video. Several members inquired and this is the same gimmick. http://www.seomagic-usa.com/catalog/prod......s_id/201 If you purchase this I can let you know how the Japanese magician changed the gimmick for his method of presention. I did inform them it was not cheap! $55.00 is not cheap in my book for this gimmick. Just wanted to let all those that were still interested it is available. |

Hello Bill, haven't seen you around the Café for some time.
I'm just wondering whether SEO is owned by Kikuchi or his family? Seem to be promoting a lot of Kikuchi products. |

I`ve always been taught to support originals, but trust me, nowadays originals unless is an age old brand, otherwise theres no guaranteed, I`m very angry and disappointed when I order 2 of these. the flint wheel cant produce sharp clean sparks in every strike!! a normal gas lighter even strikes better sparks!!
when I email them they ask me to post it back to them, (spend extra) then include postage cash (spend extra again!!) for them to send us back. means you gotta pay for them to send you back. well, not just that, they even mention only IF they found there were default in the gimmick then they replace you. the thing is, I`m paying so much supporting originals and getting rotten so-called high quality products!! some magician fren got the early batch, they say its good, well, I guess its still their fault to maintain such poor QC over their product manufacturing!!!!

Seo is not owned by Kikuchi but there are close friends. As I understand SEO is pretty good about originals.

As mentioned in the other post... Kikuchi's product(own by Jimmy Kikuchi now) now uses a very thin flint wheel....I have met Jimmy Kikuchi & has huge repect him, but I have to admit this thin flint wheel is NOT reliable as compared in the past used by his dad, Kikuchi.
All older Kikuchi's products uses a very high quality, well design & well made(powerful)flint wheel, even use by Jimmy Kikuchi now for his own act....but just curious why the products he sell now is not the one he uses now NOR his dad uses but a very thin unreliable flinwheel....I rather him mark up the price higher to have back the high quality flint wheel so his fire gimmick will work 100%, if not as time passes...Kikuchi'is reputation may suffer due to the unreliable thin flint wheel... |

Hi bojan,
No I am speaking of the original Kukuchi Thumb Tip Fire, and the famous Japanese magician. He is like Copperfield in Japan. Can't think of his name. He has a video on YouTube of a French show. He does a simple fire in palm effect that everyone wanted, but was not available at the time. I found his name Cyril Takayama and here is the video, can't believe I found it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7klUk4byl4 ---------------------------------------------------- As far as the flint goes, Kukuchi also installed the smaller flints in his fire products. I have a number of them I purchased directly from him. As with most products in magic, it is the purchasers responsibility to work and break in a product. I like the smaller flint wheels. There is hard flint and softer flints on the market. Ronson is the softer and Zippo is harder. The ones that come in Bic lighters is very hard flints. To make it strick eaiser, just back off the screw a turn or 2, then as the flint wears down you can increase the tension. Also several turns will wear the flint in the proper shape in the flint. I did find not to let the flint stay in the device if you are not using it for a long time. The flint does dissolve to dust and jams up the wheel. I put it in some water and it loosened the wheel and was able to get the remaining flint out. This type of magic is not an E-Z to do at once trick. It takes some getting use to. |

One thing I don`t understand is why fuel tank has to be that high ? Angles are quite bad. Flame would be the same size if tank was just 1/3 of size I own. I bought mine at UGM shop in Japan. Sakoh gimmick has advantage that there is nothing to be seen on the back of his thumb but most of the time they are sold out and a set is priced 21.000,00 yen with a DVD

Bojan,
I never thought the depth of the cotton container interfered with working of the gimmick. I think it may be that high as the striker is set at a 45 degree angle, and that is the height it comes out to be. Anyway, Cyril Takayama's handling is a real unique way to use and introduce fire in palm effect into an act. Don't need a huge Fickle Fire unit to get the great effect. I look more for the unique handlings of the gimmick. This even beats Kukuchi's handling of the trick. His was just the old vanishing silk effect, with a fire interlude. |

Bojan,
Thanks for those video references, Sakoh, is the Fickle Fire Expert. Are you sure we are talking about the same gimmick? This hss to be very different then the Kukuchi Thumb Tip Fire, as I do not see how the Kukuchi model could do the second video with the scarf. |
