I've read all of the books mentioned in the above article and the best how-to-make it series is Eric Lewis' trilogy. Lewis was a successful magician, artist, and owner of Magicraft Studios in Britain. He was a master builder of mostly platform-size apparatus and an excellent author. Best of all, he illustrated and explained trick construction step-by-step. I've made dozens of his pieces just for the fun of playing with his clever mechanisms and ingenious secrets. I'd recommend starting with the first of the trilogy, A choice of Miracles. It has over sixty tricks to make, complete with routines!
Incidentally, Eric Lewis also wrote and illustrated an Albo book (the one on Okito) mentioned in that article.

Thank you Mr. Fiscus! I've put the trilogy on my list of "must haves." Thanks also to Magic Gizmo for posting the original article.

cheers,

Lin

Dave's recommendation is a good one also because this book "A Choice of Miracles" is still available as well as the final book "Crowning Miracles". "Continuation of Miracles" continues to be the tough one to find.

I've also added a few new titles to this article. I am glad people seem to be enjoying it.

If you are looking for the "Miracles" books, Chmara has a set for sale, I believe.

I am fortunate to own several of Eric Lewis' original, handmade props. I specifically selected for purchase those that were in the Miracles books. He had an amazing ability to develop practical, buildable, performable apparatus, and his personal workmanship, including the hand-detailing, was impeccable.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...
