I think the Pro-Gravity opens by itself, much like Lassen's and Schoolcraft's. The Flip System is probably your normal every day flipper, you need to shake it to make it flip open.

I have a Tango coin, a "swedish coin" and it is of good quality. Bought at FISM in Stockholm.

It is unclear to me weather there are two different designs eg. "flipper" and "gravity" flipper OR are both possibilities availible with the one coin?

I've used tango ['s before and they are pretty good- almost on par with johnson in my oppinion. I've yet to utilize any flippers by any manufacturer but these prices are attractive.

We called Flipper PRO because now this flipper has real edge in both coins, so we think it's better for professional use.
Gravity system is the coins where the fold part open for itself
Flip system is the coins with the traditional open system

Mr. Tango, are there any shops in the U.S. that are currently selling the gravity flipper pro?

Shipping from Argentina is $15.00!

I would like to avoid the shipping cost if possible- Mark

Cinemagician,

I know that Wizard HQ and Penguin Magic are also both selling the half dollar Tango Pro Gravity Flipper. Unfortunately, both places are "Out of Stock" at the moment, but Wizard HQ is getting a shipment in on January 16th, 2009 (I'm not sure about Penguin).

Good Luck,
Kyle

Hello Cinemagician,

Say to favorite magic store that Murphys Magic Supplies has permanent stock, so they can get it from Murphy.

Mr. Tango,

I've been looking through your inventory and noticed something called a "Super" expanded shell. What is that? Does it cover the coin below the shell better? I may have to order a couple if their coverage is better. My magnetic shell is almost unusable because it barely covers the lower coin's sides. I'd say it isn't even 50% coverage of the side edge. That makes it dangerous at seated magic. The specs. can easily see the gap from shell to whole coin. I've been only using it for standing routines with the coin performance table as low as can be. I have an expanded tail too (also a Tango product)that is not shimmed and it's not much better.

I'm hoping the new "Super" expanded shell will offer better coverage. Please let us all know.

A Super Expanded Shell will fit over an Expanded Shell, giving you a possible three coin nest.

I hear your pain; I also purchased a magnetic shell (Kennedy Half) from Tango and it's next to worthless... the only thing it's good for is my Raven. I've had a few good experiences with Tango's product, but their magnetic shells suck _____ ! >_<

Dear Pauldela,

About Flippers, if you can't get it in UK you could order the coin direct to our website. http://www.tangomagic.com

About Expanded shell steel back, is imposible that cover all the coin, any expanded shell cans do it, more if the expanded shell has a piece of steel inside.

Bye.

That must be it. I don't have a great understanding of how expanded shells are made. I'm starting to become aware of it because of all the great information here on the Café. I've learned that when you expand the coin, you naturally lose a bit of of the edge depth. Making these gaffed coins is art and science. I need to understand the science a bit better. Thank you Mr. Tango and everyone that has offered explanations.

I am greatly anticipating Mr. Tango's forthcoming DVD and possible book on using gaffed coins. I have quite a few (for me, anyway) gaffed coins now and learning to use them has been difficult but fun. I want to learn the possibilities better and correct routining. A book would be my first choice. I don't like DVD instruction. So until Mr. Tango offers his training system(s) I will be purchasing the book "Destroyers" by Troy Hoosier. My mentor/teacher has recommended it highly for it's routines with flipper coins. That will be my place to start. The Bobo book has been helpful with shell coins and many other things as far as coin magic goes. I have Mr. Roth's book coming too, for more basic coin magic learning. I think I've found my niche. I really love coin magic in all it's aspects.
