I've got a DVD and was watching it, which is why I posted this.
Pretty boring, actually. But some good music. I just asked because if a lot of people had said they had seen it, then I would brag and say that I'm on the soundtrack. But since no one but Vandy has seen it, bragging seems a bit...uh...silly. But hey...there's ice fishing in the movie, right, Vandy? |

I watch all the arctic stuff. I love the arctic. I met a guy from Alaska and asked him about the ice fishing up there. He said "we don't do much" I sais "Really? How come?" He says "cause in the middle of winter the ice is about 6 feet thick".
Are you really on the soundtrack? You can brag.

Yeah, I'm on the soundtrack. Here are the credits:
http://www.pbs.org/pov/pov2007/arcticson/about_credits.html They paid me $150 and sent me a DVD. I mean, I wanted to brag, but it kind of kills it when no one has heard of the film. I'd rather say that I wrote that Celine Deon song for The Titanic. The song may suck (a question of taste) but I read that Celine pulled in 150 MILLION for that song ALONE. Kind of makes one pause.... |

Nice job!
Maybe I'm the only one who watches PBS around here? P.O.V is a good show.

Sorry, Jeff. It has been in a few film festivals, but I haven't seen it on any local TV listings. I had high hopes for the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, but even they haven't listed it yet.
I'm a sucker for these kinds of stories, so I'll keep hoping. John

I may be wrong but I think it was on TV here over a year ago.

My fifteen minutes of fame is pretty freaking obscure.
Oh well, I truly never wanted to be famous anyway. I want the money, but not the fame. $150 was cool. Paid for my Michael Ammar cups and balls DVDs. But it would have been cooler to buy...uh...like, a yacht or something. |

Who knows, it's out there. Maybe someone else will hear it and use it for something else. Where can we hear it besides the film?

When you met Celine Deon was she a nice person?
Congratulations on that song, Stoney! Good job! |

Did you sing or just pluck the strings?

It was just an instrumental.
If I can't find it through Google, I'll put it up on my own website. But not tonight. I've got to teach three classes tomorrow, and I taught three today, and that's enough for a genius...and I'm NOT a genius, so I'm working at a disadvantage. I'll post here again in a day or two for those who want to hear it. But I posted it before. Who was it? John? (Magnusgrim or whatever he calls himself?) was saying that banjos didn't do it for him, and I posted the link. But the link was probably banjoaddiction.com, which is dead. I'll work on it. It's just 60 seconds of banjo music while the son and father are trying to fix their snow-mobile. That's all. Yeah, I'm proud. But that's all it was. |
