Hey! Did you (I don't know your age) ever listen when Dizzy Dean did the radio play by play for the Cards? He facinated me. We had to root for the Braves cuz we were in the Atlanta area and back then, when Hank Aaron (who I thought was great until I met him) was going for Babe Ruths record. If you rooted for the Mets (my real team) or anyone else the Brave fans would jump you.

It will be a short one tonight. The game will start at the bottom of the 6th inning with the Phillies at bat, and the score is tied 2 to 2.
Go Phils

I think that twice in 100 years is OK with me. How many people root for the Cubs every year, and are disappointed?

Believe it or not I have met New Yorkers, and people from the DC area in line at Pat's steaks that just had to drive to south Philly for a snack. I had a juggler friend of mine who had a one night gig in Philly call me up to take him to Pat's to find out what everybody was talking about. Doug You are backing looooooosers, because the thought of someone else other than the regulars are at the big dance upsets you. GO PHILLIES

I would have to care to 'back'. When it comes to sports, I'm PBR and Sprint cars.

Pass me the champagne, and I'll see you at the parade on Friday. I should be easy to spot I'll be the guy in the red shirt, and hat.
Doug Winning the world series is just as cool as winning the Kentucky derby in your sprint car.

Heard it, saw it, watched it, sweated through it, bit my nails off and screamed bloody murder. This is SOOOO unreal. So surreal. Finally the city we live in and call home has a Cahmpion for the first time in 25 years. Finally the William Penn curse is over. =) I am one happy camper right now.

Al: I forgot to mention an affinity for the Horses as well. (non-bettor)
Sprint cars was just a generic category for, Dirt tracks and include flat track Motorcycles, any Open Wheel type cars and of course on pavement, Top Fuel dragsters and local short track ovals. (NASCAR too ponderous and boring) Who said I had all my own teeth? A Surfing accident at Sunset Beach (Pipeline) at 18 took care of that! BTW: Glad your Phillies won.
